Thursday, February 5AAA (ages 9-11) 1. 1-3 practices/week during the season. 2. You may have up-to-4 practices/week prior to season start. 3. There are two games per week. 4. All 12 year olds, who try out for Majors, must be drafted to a Major League team. Exceptions can only be made with written approval from the District Administrator and only if approved at the local league level by the Board of Directors and the parents of the player in question. 5. Follow Little League rulebook, page 36, Option 2 for pitch counts. 6. A pitcher who delivers less than forty pitches in a game may play the position of catcher for the remainder of the game. A pitcher who delivers forty or more pitches in a game may not play the position of catcher for the remainder of the game. A player may start the game at catcher and then go in to pitch. 7. Pitchers removed from the game may not return as pitcher. 8. No 12-year-olds can pitch. See rule# 4. 9. No curve balls are allowed. First curveball is a warning to the manager, second curveball requires pitchers removal. Pitch will count as a ball unless the batter gets a base hit. The umpire will determine the type of pitch thrown. 10. Pitch counts must be recorded by the home team scorekeeper, signed by both managers, and copies given to both scorekeepers. Warm up pitches do not count against pitch count. Verification of pitches must be provided to the Manager of the next opponent. Any discrepancies must be resolved prior to game beginning. 11. A base runner must slide or avoid contact. If a collision is made, runner is out. A runner may not slide headfirst. If he slides headfirst, he is out. He may dive back to a base if he has gone past the base first. 12. A Courtesy runner may be used. Runner must be a bench player. If courtesy runner is used because of illness or injury, player replaced must sit out remainder of game. 13. All teams must use a continuous batting order. 14. A five-run limit/half-inning is to be imposed. 15. If a player becomes sick or injured during the game, he will be removed and there will be no penalty for removing the player. 16. All players will play at least 2 defensive innings. 17. Games shortened by the 2 hour time limit are the exception to this rule. In the event that a player did not receive his minimum requirement, coaches should attempt to adjust their lineup for the next game accordingly. 18. Once the pitcher has the ball, on the mound, the runners must return to the base. 19. Players are required to stay in the dugout at all times. 20. The on-deck position is not permitted. The batter will be allowed time to warm-up in the batter’s box. 21. Coaches are not allowed to warm up the pitcher between innings. Warm-up catcher will be a player, must wear a mask and a catchers glove. 22. Catcher must use a regulation catcher’s glove and not a regular fielder’s mitt. 23. Parents are not allowed in the dugout during the game. 24. Game time limit is 2 hours. No new inning will start after 1 ¾ hours. Time should be kept by the home team scorekeeper and home plate umpire should be notified when the 1 ½ hour mark is reached. 25. Teams will be selected by using the draft method. Players will attend a talent evaluation prior to the draft allowing Head and Assistant coaches to evaluate each player. The Player Agent will conduct a meeting with the coaches and the coaches will choose their players. Each coach will draw a number out of a hat and draft in this order. Children of each coach are automatically on their team. 26. Only the Head Coach and Assistant Coach may be on the field during the game. One additional assistant may be in the dugout as long as he has had the proper background check. The bench assistant may not be chosen before team selection. This bench assistant will be selected by the Head Coach at the first team practice. 27. Only the Head Coach and one assistant coach will receive team shirt and must wear during the game. 28. No metal cleats. 29. All males must wear protective cup.
