Easton Ice Hockey Club Information
Our club plays in the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League which has four divisions, youth, middle school, junior varsity, and varsity. Some of the other organizations in the league are Phillipsburg, Freedom, Liberty, Nazareth, Northampton, Whitehall, Parkland, Emmaus, Bethlehem & Central Catholic, Pleasant Valley, Southern Lehigh, and Quakertown. Youth level is designed for grades 3 through 5. Middle School is sixth grade through eighth, with JV players ranging from eighth grade to tenth. Varsity includes players from ninth to twelveth. Games are at either the Rink at Lehigh Valley in Whitehall or Steel Ice Center in Bethlehem. Development team (Mites) is for beginners from kindergarten through second grade. This team will have a 10-12 week season learing skating and hockey basics. Some games are possible.
For 2009-2010 season, our practices will be at Steel Ice Center and at the Bethlehem Recreation rink on Illicks Mill Road. Each team will have at least 1 hour per week with at least 1/2 hour of full ice. Youth level has 10 games, Middle School plays 14, with both JV and Varsity having 18 each.
Each player, boy or girl, is required to be a member of USA hockey. This registration requires a $40 fee. The club fee is based on the ice practice time and the league fees, which include ice time for games and the referees. The fees for the 2009-2010 season are expected to be around: Youth - $690, Middle School - $760, JV and Varsity - $1000. Development team fees will be $180.
