Eastern Virginia Juniors
Welcome to the website of Eastern Virginia Juniors, a nonprofit United States Volleyball Association and Amateur Athletic Union affiliated volleyball club. EVJ was established in the fall of 2005 by individuals who sought to provide young players in the area with quality volleyball instruction and a chance to compete in Junior Olympic Volleyball at a reasonable cost. In addition, the EVJ founders established a practice and tournament schedule which allowed the multisport, high school athlete to participate.
Eastern Virginia Juniors is a small program that provides intensive instruction in volleyball fundamentals and helps players develop a complete knowledge of the game. It is a program that is committed to promoting sportsmanship and welcomes input from parents. The teams have a 10-player limit that makes it easier for all players to receive playing time. The teams practice at the same time and place each week. The Club has USA Volleyball CAP Level II certified coach. (There are only three in the Hampton Roads area and only 28 in the state.) The coach is also certified by United States Strength and Conditioning Foundation. Those involved in the program understand that the key element in the success of the team is the athleticism, skill, and the effort of each player. A goal of the Club is to promote Club’s players rather than the Club’s coaches. The Club provides a breakdown of all club fees and refunds any portion of the fee that is not used during the season.
