Congratulations to the Astros for going on a 9-0 run and winning the 13U USSSA Elite World Series to become the USSSA Elite National Champions!!!!

The 13U East Cobb Astros go 5-2-1 to win the 14U USSSA Major State Tournament.  The Astros had to beat a very strong East Cobb Titans 4-3 in the finals of the losers bracket to advance to the championship game.  In coming from the losers bracket, the Astros then had to beat the East Cobb Braves in two games to win the championship.  Hunter Anglin and Michael Gettys team up for a no-hit shutout to win the first game 7-0.  The second game ended 10-2 to wrap up the Championship and a great week of games. 

Congratulations to the Astros for playing a tough Championship game.  The Astros took the East Cobb Titans into the bottom of the 9th inning before giving up the winning run.  The boys played great, ending with a 3-2 record and beating a very good East Cobb Braves team (last weeks 14U Super NIT Winner) to get to the championship. 

Congratulations to the Astros for earning a berth, this past weekend in the TN Super NIT, to the 13U USSSA Elite World Series in Orlando.  The tournament was down to the final 4 teams (Astros vs Vipers and VA Shredders vs Extreme) when the rain finally rolled in and cancelled the tournament.  Based on USSSA rules regarding rainouts the Extreme (2nd seed) was awarded first place, and a berth to the Elite WS and the Astros were awarded runner-up (9th seed) and also a berth. 

Congratluations Astros for going 6-0 and taking the Championship in a 2-1 win against the PC Vipers. 

Congratulations to the team for winning the 14U division of the BPA OCTOBER CHILL tournament in Dalton GA on Sunday Oct 19, 2008.

 With excellent pitching and hitting, the Astros were able to go 4-0 to win this "Sunday Only" tournament, giving up only 1 run while scoring 57. 

Good luck this next weekend in the 14U division of the Triple Crown Fall State Tournament at the East Cobb Baseball Complex.

Congratulations to the East Cobb Astros for their win in the Triple Crown Fall Classic!  The Fall Classic was held September 26-28, 2008 at the East Cobb complex and included some very competitive teams.  The Astros finished pool play 3-0 and began their path to the championship Sunday morning with a close 3-2 win over Outlaws Baseball.  The Astros then battled the tough South Gwinnett Comets.  After an 11-3 win over the Comets, the Astros faced Bulldog Baseball in the championship game.  The Astros displayed their power at the plate, on the mound, in the field, and as a team for a final score of 15-5 and a victory over the Bulldogs.  All the players are looking forward to the 2009 spring season!
