The Earthquake History
The Indiana Earthquake Fastpitch softball organization began in 1996 under the leadership of Bob McFall and Dave Bailey. They traveled to the Sno-ball Classic in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. 4 players participated in the program all of their travel-ball careers, 1 University of Evansville graduate, Shelly McFall and U of E UTLITY PLAYER Jenny Mann who is also a graduate. Two more original players are Julie Wood,a Brecia College softball player and Lynn Bailey former shortstop at Evansville Harrison.
The Earthquake won the 1997 ASA 'A' fastpitch softball state tourney and participated in the ASA nationals in Rockford, IL. THE FOLLOWING YEAR the Quake was runner-up at the 1998 midwest ASA regional and also participated in the ASA national in NOVI Michigan. One of the coaches, Tami Marlow, a former UE pitcher went home that year and helped coach the quake in front of several former and current family and friends. We have played in Chatanooga NSA world series, Columbus Ohio W.S and the W.S. in Rock Hill South Carolina 2 times. In 2001 we had 7 teams travelling all over the Midwest AND ONE ATTEND THE SUPER NSA WORLD SERIES,HAD ONE ATTEND THE ASA NATIONALS IN Garland Texas. 8 teams in 2002 and 7 again in 2003,with 3 of them participating in the ASA A nationals in Maritta,GA and Normal, Illinois 14u and 18u in Garland Texas.
