A great second half surge secured a tie and almost brought home a win in a hard fought match with the Piranhas. Unfortunately, we were unable to take advantage of several opportunities to score, except for the lone goal scored by Hassan - his first of the season.
And what a goal it was. It was a testament to second effort and not giving up when it seemed that the goalie had the ball. It also gave the entire team a wake up call and sense of urgency, which almost lead to a late victory after falling behind early in the second half.
Also, Marshall made some incredible saves, especially the one late in the game that he had to jump up to tip and then belly crawl to get control of the ball.
All in all, it was a solid effort with just some unlucky bounces on the offensive end of the field. If we could convert more of those scoring opportunities, we would be untouchable in league play.
