Tournament Recap: Coach "T" Classic
Tournament Recap: Coach "T" Classic
Mar 22-24 Indy EBC Blue travels to St. Louis for the Coach T Classic:
The Blue team kicked off the season with a trip to St. Louis to participate in the "Coach T" Classic. We started off playing the Defending 2012 National Champions Team Thad from Memphis. We lost 62-42 but the game was much closer than the final score. This game showed that our players have what it takes to compete with the best teams in our age group. The team was led in various categories by Mario Nalls, Noah Oetjen, and Levi Jackson. Considering that we only had a week of practice the coaches were quite enthusiastic.
Our second game pitted the Blue team against a quick Baylor Youth Club program "St. Louis Fusion" . The Blue team proved to be to much for the Fusion winning by a score of 74-60. The Eagles were led by Mario Nalls (10 Pts & 19 rebs), Levi Jackson (9 pt, 6 assists), Noah Oetjen (11 Pts & 4 rebs) along with Josiah Oetjen (7 pts) & Abe Hadley (6 pts)
Our third game vs S.C. Elite started out tight, but defensive pressure from a more talented team allowed the Eagles to pull out a double digit win of 62-40 . The team's next game was against our old nemesis Gateway Basketball Club in the championship. However, inclement weather would not allow us to participate in this rematch of last years championship game.
12U 6th grade team
Our 6th Grade Eagles (defending Fishers League Champs 2012) are currently playing in the IBA league and hold a 2-3 record so far. I watched practice on Monday night and Coach Batie has the boys looking good.

Mario Nalls (7 rpg) and Abe Hadley (5 rpg) controlled the paint for us while Mike Murff contributed in the second half of our 1st bracket play game with timely baskets and leadership. Isaiah Easley (10 ppg) Josiah Oetjen (7 ppg) Levi Jackson, Blake Robertson, Jason Whittmore & Daryl Littleton played all significant roles both offensively and defensively in our wins this weekend.
Red: The Red team is continuing to improve and Coach Smith is quite excited by their progress. The Red team is led by Jamal Jackson, Ethan Walters, Roger Roy, Jordan Usher and Roger Gwinn. The team chemistry is great and I believe that they will be ready when we head to AAU Nationals in Little Rock.
