EWPAL LITTLE LEAGUE ALL STARS

All Star Overview

As the regular season ends, some players are always looking for more baseball. East Windsor PAL All-Stars may be the answer...every year, we encourage our players to try out for one of our many All-Star teams. Playing on an All-Star team is a fantastic way to learn and play at a higher level than the regular season.

This year, we are planning on fielding teams for all East Windsor PAL players age 7’s, 8’s, 9's, 10’s, 11’s and 12’s. Although the commitment is great, you will be amazed at how much your child’s baseball skills are improved at this level of play. Unlike the regular season where all children bat in the lineup and are required to play in the field at least half of the game, players are only guaranteed three consecutive defensive outs in the field and one at-bat per game. Although this is not our ultimate goal, it is possible that some players may not get more than that. This Little League rule applies to the 10, 11 and 12 year old District teams. All other levels are guided by the individual tournament rules and may vary per tournament but minimum rules will still apply.

Practice schedules are at the discretion of the manager but be assured that teams will be practicing or playing almost every day. It is expected that your child will be at each and every practice and game. It is understood that things come up and that children get sick. In those situations, you are asked to contact the manager in advance to inform him/her that your child will be unable to attend. Remember, this is a team sport and each child is an important member of his/her team. Total team commitment is expected and frankly, the team dynamic can make a huge difference during this competitive game play. If you have a family vacation planned during the months of June and July, you must inform the manager prior to player selection. If you do not inform the manager and your family goes on vacation during the tournament season, your child may be removed from the team and their future selection to tournament teams may be jeopardized.

Each team is planning to participate in at least two tournaments within the District and your commitment to the All-Star team will last through July.

All Star Manager Selection

The following All-Star Managers have been selected by the board:

7 year old - Nick Feretic (nferetic@yahoo.com)
8 year old - Rick Beggs (rick.beggs@verizon.net)
9 and 10 year old - Dan Harrington (dannyharrington@verizon.net)
11 year old - Kyle Zosulis (kzos21@yahoo.com)
12 year old - Peter Schintzler (schinpe@comcast.net)

Please contact the appropriate manager above as soon as possible to express your child's interest.

All Star Player and Parent Expectations

As is the case with any All-Star team, it is a privilege to be selected and all players on all East Windsor PAL All-Star teams are expected to represent the league with respect and to up-hold the leagues Code of Conduct at all times.

Players are required to show up to at least 1 tryout but are stongly encouraged to attend all. All-Stars is an extremely competitive environment and as such, it is imperative that all parents and players honor our Code of Conduct and bring that type of attitude to other leagues.

East Windsor PAL will be hosting the 11 year old District Finals and several District Pool Play games. Each team will be reponsible for 1 or 2 nights during the 6 week period to help with announcing, scoreboard, field maintenance or 50/50 sales.

To defer the costs incurred by the league for our All Star teams we are asking each player for a $125 registration fee. The fee covers the costs of entering All Star teams in tournaments, paying umpires and providing baseballs and the cost of uniforms.

It is a Little League Requirement to hold the first tryout on or after June 15th for 10, 11 and 12 year old District teams. We will be posting All Star clinics and tryout schedule for all age groups on www.eastwindsorlittleleague.com shortly. Please contact your manager at the e-mails listed above to express your child's interest in participating. If you have questions with any of the above, please feel free to contact League President Fred Simon (fjsimonsays@verizon.net) or our Vice President of Baseball, Kyle Zosulis (kzos21@yahoo.com).
