Hey guys this is Matthew Haynes (Kodak Reds). I wanted to let any of you that might be interested know about the trip my brother and I take to Ft. Myers, Florida each Fall to play in the Roy Hobbs World Series. This will be our 14th year going together. This is a combo vacation/baseball trip. Several of us bring our girlfriends or wives and others make it a guy trip.

The baseball consists of 6 guarenteed 9 inning games per week of play. All games are at the perfectly manicured fields of the Twins & Red Sox spring training facilities. The age groups we are looking at 38+ (Oct.22-29) & 48+ (Oct.29-Nov.5). Registration is the first Saturday of each week. Each team plays 4 games the first 3 days. Wednesday is an off day (or makeup if there is rain). A 5th game on Thursday and the start of a single elimination tourny on Friday. The second Saturday if each week is the Championship round. Each age group allows a team to have 3 players that are 35 or 45 respectively. The 38 & 48 division have around 40-50 teams each and have a good balance of talent.

We are taking a 38's (Oct.22-29) and a 48's (Oct.29-Nov.5) team this year, but are looking to round out each roster. We will have a golf tourny in late August. This is an oppurtunity for each player to offset some or all of his baseball cost. If you like baseball, golf, seafood and great weather...well you need to get in touch with us.
