2008 BACK 2 BACK 2009

CHAMPIONS

 2007, 2008, 2009 TN Valley Divisional Champs!

THE 2010 Season is approaching and the Knoxville Nightmare look to once again lead the pack. This will be our most explosive, high powered offense we have ever had with Craig Smith, Wes Cobb, Josh Elliot, and Jason Fuller all returning. What makes this team special are the new comers Dale Phillips, and Josh Black. Both players will add power bats around reigning MVP Jason Fuller. The key to last year was the contribution from the bottom of the order; Cain Clifton surged into the fall leading the team in batting. Jonathan Reynolds nursed a bad shoulder all year and rehabbed in the fall hitting 2 HR and 6 RBIS in 9 games. JT Clifton also produced leading the team with 7 RBIS and boasted a 1.000 BA with RISP. Zach Cobb also came off an injury and managed to have a .485 OBP.  Blake Whitt hit .389 while catching 64 innings and allowing only 5 SB's, he made the All-Star Team last year with a unanimous vote and looks to earn another spot this year. Taylor Owens consistently showed he can hold a .400+ average and plays all positions at an above average level. Finally Matt Neff who had his biggest season improving his average to .387 off the bench. 1 through 10 we will be hard to stop!

CHAMPS..... AGAIN!

The final game of the playoffs was between the Nightmare and the Jackets. Nightmare took an early 3-0 lead courtesy of Josh Elliot hitting an RBI 3B and a Solo HR. The lead was then relinquished due to some shaky defense. Bases were loaded and our 2B man miss handled a ball and threw a rocket from 6 ft. away from 1st right into the dirt Cain Clifton made a great pick easily saving 2 runs. Jason Fuller fizzled out so team Cy Young Wes Cobb took over with the game tied. Josh Elliot was then HBP Intentionally and Jason Fuller Made them pay by hitting an opposite field bomb to take the lead. The lead was given up due to some uncharacteristically wild Wes Cobb pitching and the Nightmare were down one heading into the bottom of the 6th. Wes Cobb got walked and later scored on a 2B from Craig Smith. The Jackets then IBB Elliot and Fuller to get to Taylor Owens and he delivered with the go ahead RBI. Wes Cobb marched out on the field and closed the game out. We are Champions again!

Worth Sporting Goods

We would like to extend a special thanks to Steve Cohen of Worth Sporting Goods. He has generously donated over 1500$ worth of equipment to the Knoxville Nightmare franchise. This includes the team’s new pants for 09 and several bats (a few maples, a few bamboos, and a coach’s fungo). We look forward to using the bats during the season and will most definitely post our comments under the WORTH SPORTING GOODS section on our web page, we also plan on buying a set of team helmets. I would also like to spread the word that Worth not only makes softball supplies, but offers up quality baseball supplies such as helmets, baseballs, bats (wood and metal), and many other things. They are working in conjunction with many local stores in Knoxville so go out and pick up some gear. I have tried all the bats received in the cage and I like the pop out of the bamboo bat. I have compared it to the Mizuno Bamboo and I liked the crack off the Worth bat much better. (2007 ETABL MVP Wes Cobb)MORE REVIEWS TO COME.

NEURO FUEL

neuro fuel

The Knoxville Nightmare is proud to have Neuro Fuel as a sponsor for the 2009 season. Neuro Fuel's slogan “The science of happiness, the smart way to feel better!" is a very different approach from other energy drink companies, which stress a caffeine high and eventual crash. The science and ingredients increase energy, as well as improving you mood by increasing dopamine. There are many other benefits from drinking Neuro Fuel; learning, happiness, motivation, energy, recovery, coordination, protection, intelligence, fat burning, attitude, and healthy nerves. Please check their website for the complete science and actions of each ingredient http://drinkneurofuel.com/ Also Neuro Fuel is a Knoxville owned and operated company who believes in helping out local people (such as the Nightmare) so lend a hand in building a local company and give Neuro Fuel a try.

Can be purchased at most gas stations / store in Knoxville.

P.S. They have a link through Amazon that has free shipping http://www.amazon.com/Neuro-Fuel-Enhancement-Formula-12-ounce/dp/B001BJMX4U/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1221513166&sr=8-1

“I have been a Neuro Fuel drinker for about a year now, I will admit that I used to drink red bull, but once I tried Neuro Fuel it captured me. With other drinks I always experienced a severe crash as most people do. I also notice the extreme shift in my attitude and out-look. I always feel better and more relaxed as opposed to jittery and wiry. This goes great with a side of homework."                   (2007 MVP Wesley Cobb)
