East Syracuse-Minoa Little League: Spring Season Divisions
Also known as "coach pitch". Fundamentals of hitting, fielding and baserunning are taught. The rules are modified to accommodate teaching. The primary goals are to have fun, learn fundamentals and to experience the value of teamwork.
Minors AA Division Boys Ages 7-8
Part coach pitch/part player pitch. Stress fundamentals like hitting, fielding, baserunning and now pitching. Rules are modified to accommodate teaching, but now learning outs and runs come into play. Goals in this division are to have fun, learn more about fundamentals and teamwork.
Minors AAA Division Boys Ages 9-10
Player pitch. Players drafted after try-outs. Stress teaching the fundamentals as well as more advanced play, such as bunting, stealing, etc. Primary goals are to have fun, learn more about baseball and experience the value of teamwork.
Majors Division Boys Ages 11-12
Highest of the minors divisions. Standard baseball rules apply. Teams drafted after try-outs. Chance for children to experience tournament play. This is the division that can lead to the "Little League World Series" tournament. Primary goal is to have fun, improve skills and learn the value of teamwork.
T-Ball Boys/Girls Ages 4-6
Tee ball program is for 4-6 year old first time players (boys/girls) who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Players hit off a batting tee. The rules are varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of Tee ball are to have fun, learn the fundamentals and experience teamwork.
Softball Coach Pitch Girls Ages 6-8
Fundamentals of hitting, fielding and baserunning. Rules are modified to promote learning. The focus is on fun, learning basics and teamwork.
Softball Minors Girls Ages 8-10
Teaching the fundamentals of hitting, fielding, baserunning and now pitching. Runs and outs now play a part in the game. Rules are modified to accommodate teaching. Stress fun, improving skillls and the value of teamwork.
Softball Majors Girls Ages 10-12
Player pitch. More advanced learining such as bunting, stealing, etc. More competitive but still stress teaching. Primary goal is to have fun, learn more about the game, improve skills and working as a team.
Juniors Baseball Boys Ages 13-14
Moving up to a larger field (90 ft. bases). Compete with other local teams. Pimary goal is to have fun, improve skills and continue to learn the value of teamwork.
Seniors Baseball Boys Ages 14-16
Last division of play in our league. Goals are to have fun, improve skills and continure to learn the value of teamwork.
