How to determine the "League Age" of a little league player

Hello All:

Some people have asked how does the leage determine a "league age" for a player? How come a team will have players that are 11 years old but are listed as "league age" 10?

Little League International uses a specific date during the year to determine a player's age for that year. This system is used by all of the little leagues in the entire organization. The date that we use is April 30th of that year.

This means whatever age that a player will be on April 30th is the "league age" of the player for the whole year. This is important because this age determination includes eligbility for participation into year end tournaments and special league hosted tournaments.

The link on this website goes to a chart that will determine the player's league age.

1. Click on the link and locate the chart for Baseball Divisions

2. Find the box that is the month and then the year that has the player's birthday

3. Slide over to the AGE number and that is the players "league age" for the year
