Norfolk Park & Recreation
Norfolk's Department of Neighborhood and Leisure Services responsibly manages for the planning, programming and supervision of leisure programs in the areas of sports, special events, youth development and enrichment, and senior programs, as well as traditional recreation programs. Programs are provided which promote the positive use of leisure time while contributing to the physical, mental and social well-being of Norfolk residents and visitors. The Department provides for the operations of the Virginia Zoological Park at Norfolk as well as all parks, school grounds, recreational facilities, public buildings, playgrounds, cemeteries, fleet operations for the city, all public grounds and medians and all of our urban forest.
