Eastern Little League Baseball Operations: NEWS
Monday, January 28The Little League Coaches Registry
Better Coaches. Better Games. Better Leagues.
Managers and coaches are among the most important volunteers in the Little League program. They have to know the game and they have to love working with kids. Leagues with knowledgeable, caring and concerned coaches have an advantage when it comes to making the games fun and retaining players. That’s why Little League International created The Coaches Registry. The registry gives coaches exclusive tools and resources to prepare them for the job of putting the Little League program into action:
- Electronic rulebooks
- DVD/VHS training materials
- The Little League Official Coach and Manager Training program manual
- Deep discounts on items purchased through the Little League online store.
All that you need to improve your coaching ability, to reach the players you’re coaching, and to make the league a great place for children and parents alike.

NEW!!! Equipment and Supplies Catalog
Get Ready for 2008 with the Little League Equipment and Supplies Catalog
In many parts of the world, the Little League season is just getting started. That makes this the perfect time to check out the 2008 edition of Little League’s Equipment and Supplies Catalog. The 48-page, full-color publication is the definitive source for everything league officials, managers, team parents and others need to make 2008 a rousing success.

Not only can you find equipment like balls, base systems and scoreboards from authorized Little League licensees; you can also find software for running your league more efficiently, training materials for umpires, coaches and players, and all kinds of awards and pins. And of course, it’s where you can go to renew your supply of rule books, Little League awards certificates and score books.
More than 85,000 catalogs were mailed to volunteers in December 2007. This was made possible by the authorized Little League licensees who have chosen to list their products in the Equipment and Supplies Catalog. But there’s another reason to support these companies. A portion of their sales comes back to Little League Baseball and Softball, helping to keep chartering fees low and supporting the many benefits leagues realize when they charter with Little League each year.
If you did not receive a catalog and would like to have one free, send an e-mail with your address to ametarko@LittleLeague.org

Passing of Phillies Assistant Coach John Stein
We regretfully inform you of the passing of one of the coaches at Eastern Little League. John Stein (47) passed away last week and was buried yesterday with a funeral at Centenary Methodist Church. Mr. Stein was an active participant in coaching and helping many teams in many sports including that of our Phillies assisting Chip Rupp, and coaching his son John (11) for the past two years. Our prayers go out to their family, and hope everyone will support them as John has two more years at Eastern. This is the second year in a row where we as a league have had a player who's father has passed in the off season, and as with Colton Ryan from last year, we hope Eastern Little League is a place of positive male influence in their lives as I know we can be.
John, you will be missed!
