The Castle Is Plundered

The Castle, home to Ebenezer Faith Christian School Blue Knight basketball from 1988-2003, has been beseiged and plundered. The former St. Stephen's School was purchased by the Wyoming Valley West School District and demolished to provide additional parking.

The Castle comes tumbling down, June 21, 2010.

A Quiet Year

We are sorry to have to announce that enrollment is not sufficient to open the school for 2003-2004.

Enclosed below are excerpts of a letter sent to parents this week.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord” (Isaiah 55:8).
We don’t always understand God’s way, however, we do understand reality.
The reality is there will not be a Wyoming Valley Christian School meeting at Ebenezer Baptist church for the 2003-2004 school year. We tried, but God has closed the door.
To those of you who have supported Christian education, thank you and God bless as you place your children in school for the upcoming school year.
Pray concerning God’s will for a traditional Christian School in this part of the valley.
        May God bless you richly.
In Christ,
Pastor Lee
Carman Latona
Chester Dudick

In a separate letter to the faculty, Pastor Lee thanked them for their years of service:
“Thank you for your faithfulness in your position at Ebenezer Faith Christian School. Your years spent here have been an inspiration to many.
“May God bless you and open doors for you to continue in your service for Him.”
In Christ,
Pastor Lee
