History of the Flame Team
Coach Don Harms has been coaching soccer for over nine years. He has coached coed and girl's teams including competition, middle school, recreation and indoor soccer teams. Don currently holds the rank of an E/D Coaching License with CYSA and a Grade 8 Referee License with CNRA.   

The Flame Girl's Team was formed by Coach Don in 2001. In their first year the team played a winter season at HotShots Indoor Soccer in Livermore as an Under 10 Class 1 team.

During the fall season of 2001 the team played as the Under 10 Class 3 Team in the CYSA District 4 Competition Playing League. The team participated in a training clinic put on by the MLS Soccer Camp. The Flame took third place in their flight and never lost a game by more than one goal.

After just completing their first year as an Under 10 team, the Flame Team played a winter season at HotShots Indoor Soccer as an Under 12 Class 3 team.

In the fall of 2002 the team played up as an Under 12 Class 3 team in the "A" Flight of the CYSA District 4 Playing League. The team participated in two training clinics, one by Coerver Coaching and one by MLS Soccer Camps. The Flame took fourth place in the Pleasanton Warm-up Tournament and competed in the Chevrolet State Cup Championship as a first year team.

During the winter season of 2002/2003 the Flame played as a Under 12 Class 1 team in the CYSA District 4 Winter Playing League. Several players on the team also participated in the Hat Trick Indoor Soccer Training Academy.

The Flame played the 2003 Fall season as an Under 12 Class 3 team in the "A" Flight. It was a very successful season placing in three tough tournaments including the Street Soccer Cup, Kappa Cup and the Mustang Devil Mountain.

The Flame Team split up and formed an Under 11 Class 1 and an Under 12 Class 3 Team and competed at Bladium Indoor Soccer in Alameda. In the first session the Under 12 team placed 2nd and the Under 11 team placed 3rd.

Last season was the fourth for the Flame team. They are took first place as the undefeated Under 12 Class 3 team in CYSA's District 4 competition playing league. The Flame team finished in first place in four tournaments and also took second and third place honors in other tournaments.

In the winter the Flame team took first place as an Under 12 Class 3 team and as an Under 12 Class 1 team at The Bladium Indoor Facility in Alameda.

In the spring the Flame took second place in the tough NorCal Premier League Spring League. They only lost one game to the runner-up State Champion Stockton Stars. Also in the spring Coach Don and many of the Flame players competed in the Middle School League for Bristow Middle School. The Bristow Bears finished second in their divison and third overall.

During the fall season the Flame played in the tough Silver flight of the Golden State Soccer League as an Under 13 Division 1 team.The team finished .500 and were playing the top twenty teams in the Bay Area.

In the winter the Flame participated in the NorCal Cup, the CYSA State Cup and indoor at Bladium Indoor Sports. In the NorCal Premier Cup the Flame finished tied for third place in the Silver flight. At Bladium Indoor the Flame finished in third place in the Under 14 Gold Flight. The missed advancing to the championship game by one goal and were the only Under 13 team that made the playoffs.

This spring the Flame will again play in the Norcal Spring League.
