PCC Success
Although the ultimate success of winning the final was not achieved this last weekend, the team had a good tournament final game vs NW United in the final and only lost in OT 3-2. Going 2-1 in the bracket, it was a tough semi on Sunday am before the final.  They had to tough it out and come from behind and score the required number of goals to advance. Good lessons. Now training for league begins in ernest with the Nomads in Thanksgiving and then State Cup and one more college showcase in the first of 2010.

Showcase Success

Over the course of two weekends, the boys compiled a record of 8-1-1! Every player had stellar moments and the team overall effort was outstanding. Couple of injuries, lots of tired bodies but a great sense of accomplishment and pride in the results. A team on an ascending path is a beautiful thing to watch.

Tryouts done

Tryouts were held the weekend of March 6-8 after most of the guys had a grueling week of high school tryouts. Even with niggling injuries and some semi sick guys, Peter was able to formulate a cadre of strong players for the coming season. Team formation meeting was held on Sunday March 15. The team's goals will include a strong upper half finish in W1 and progression beyond the elimination round in state cup that they achieved this year.

Training will begin in May - good luck to all the guys on their high school soccer teams!

Sunday, November 9
Its on to W1 next year!
Congratulations to all the boys! With one game still to play, the boys, with a 7-1-2- record and least goals against in the league, have secured promotion to W1 for fall 2009! The 3-0 win over Snohomish with only one sub was a complete team effort. Erik scored the PK after Issac was fouled in the box, Erik scored on a play that had started with great work from Aaron and others on the left side and then Aaron gave Brent a perfect ball in the box to slot home on the ground. The defenders enhanced a superb game by Rodney, and kept the ball out of our net once again! Good to see Christophe back on the pitch and odd to see Sean as a defender.

Saturday, July 19
Crossfire Challenge Cup

Great first game against Lake Oswego for the boys with goals by Aaron, Adal and Sean. Thanks to Lionel for the new team picture shown above!

Second game was a come from behind tie 2-2 vs the Whatcom Rangers. Sean got both goals in a whole team effort to keep the pressure on to the very end.

Crossfire got to spoil the team's run at the semis with a 0-0 tie. With a ten point system instead of the 3 point one used in this event, the team would have advanced instead of Eastside.

Three games, three ties- great goals by Dawit, Erik, and Isaac. Lionel took lots of pictures and we hope to get some posted soon!

Competition for the Fall League

The state has published the list of teams in W2 for 2007/8 season.

Washington Premier is going to the academy soccer system so only one team moves down from W1 ( S Hill Rev) and Fed Way Storm is not back (folded?) and so only one team moves down from W2 to CL. So the teams in our division will be: S Hill Revolution, Sno United Black, Crossfire Black, BMSC Earthquakes (Walla Walla), Cascade FC, 3-Rivers Celtic and BHFC 92. Normally the scheduling will entail a double header weekend east of the mountains and then a double header weekend here when those teams come over to play. Schedule is published in mid August.

Wednesday, May 21
Memorial Day weekend results.

Kennedy finished second in 3A High School Finals over Memorial Day weekend. Congratulations to Dawit, Devin and Malone for their school success!

Three boys have been selected to attend the ODP Regional Camp in mid July in Oregon. Congratulations to Aaron, Rodney and Sean!

Twice a week practices have commenced and are shown on the calendar to the left and weekly on the home page. Each player is responsible to check schedule frequently.

Uniforms will arrive the second week of June is the word.

Sunday, February 24
Off to HIgh School Soccer
The ECFC M92 team will be involved with high school tryouts starting on February 25, 2008.  There is no scheduled training for the near future. Tryouts will be held on March 15 and 16 for the U16 team. Contact Coach Matt Olson with any questions about the team for 2008/9 season. mattygk1@yahoo.com

Thursday, December 27
Tampa Sun Bowl

Although the team did not advance out of the bracket, there a good dose of all new teams to battle before state cup. In all games, the first half was better than the second which may be indicator of the time change, jet lag or temperature. Rodney and Austin split time in goal and each had some great saves. Nice to have Rodney off the bench and between the posts after an all fall healing process for the shoulder. Dawit got two goals the first day, Guy got the goal on the last day and Sean got the goals in-between. Two teams advanced from our group and both won their qtr final match so it was a tough bracket indeed. Temperatures reached into the 80's - on the second day, the starting temp was above 85 so there was a mandatory water break. It will be hard to return to 38 degrees and rain!

Cup Matches are over for 2007
It was a terrific cup for M92 Green as they beat NW National Forza team 1-0 and lost to Crossfire Henderson 0-1. But for a goal given up to a fast FW team on a huge field, the team would have advanced to quarter finals. It was a good finish to a great year for an up and coming team. P2 here we come!
