East Bay Bristol County Lacrosse Association: 2009 Spring Registration
2009 SPRING REGISTRATION IS CLOSED
Boys and girls in grades 1-8 (9th graders who are not 15 years old on December 31, 2008 are eleigible to play) and not playing at the high school level are invited to register. The season begins on Saturday April 4, 2009 and continues through June 6, 2009.
Before you register your child in the East Bay Bristol County Lacrosse Association, you need to be aware of the following items:Your child must be committed to this program. In order to create viable teams for our coaches to coach and for our program to commit to the RILAX schedule it becomes extremely important that each player attends practices and games for their assigned team. Your player should attend at least 80% of all practices and games. The player should also arrive one half hour early before the start of each game so that he or she can warm up with the team and get any last minute instructions from coaches. If there are extenuating circumstances and your child cannot attend a practice or a game, you must notify the coaches well in advance. If you cannot make these commitments, please do not sign up.
Parent Volunteering is mandatory this year. In order to spread the burden of managing our 100% volunteer organization we need everyone to help out with the league work in some fashion at least once during the season. We realize your time is valuable, but we need your help. We have a variety of things that you can volunteer to do for a team or the League- everything from being a Team Mom or Dad, Team photographer, helping oversee the fields at home games, helping with the equipment twice a season, publicity needs, Chair or work on a committee for the End of Year Jamboree, help with Coaches or players clinics, etc.. Descriptions of jobs are listed on the Volunteer page of this website and during registration you will be required to select your volunteer position.
Competetive versus recreational play. Starting in 2009 EBBCLA will field both competetive (selected based on ability) annd recreational teams for boys playing in Grades 7-8, 5-6, 3-4. Teams will be selected prior to April 1st.
