WECHSLER TO ROCHESTER!
Congratulations to the Debs Eleni Wechsler on her recent commitment to attend the University of Rochester this fall and continue her softball career. Eleni, an outstanding student is a pitcher/utility player and big hitter who recently had 4 HR's and 12 RBI in a single tournament. Eleni is a senior at Warwick HS. Best of luck Eleni!

Congratulations to our Players that have recently committed to play in College!
Congratulations and good luck to 3 Debs that are going to continue their careers at the next level:
Taylor Snyder- Taylor, a P/1B, is a graduate of Saugerties HS. Taylor won 27 games with the 2012 Debs and will attend the College of St Rose beginning in the spring of 2013.
Danielle Piazza- Dani, a C/OF, attends Arlington HS and spearheaded the Debs defense by catching virtually every inning for a team that won 60 games in 2012. Dani will attend Southern Ct State University beginning in the fall of 2013.
Lauren Gorstein- Lauren, an OF/2B attends Yorktown HS. Lauren is an outstanding clutch hitter and student and will attend Skidmore College beginning in the fall of 2013.

REEVES is Player of the Week
Reeves batted .524 (11-for-21) with 10 RBI, nine runs and seven home runs last week. She also slugged 1.524, had a .630 on-base percentage and hit safely in seven of eight games. Reeves also drew five walks, including two intentional passes. She is currently tied for the league lead in home runs (8), is tied for second in runs (21) and tied for third in RBI (18).

ALONZO is Rookie of the Week in the CACC
9 year Deb Samantha Alonzo was the CACC Rookie of the Week while playing for Division 2 Goldey Beacom College weekending 3/18. In 4 games Sam hit .529 with 7 RBI and 6 runs scored. In her first 15 games Sam has hit .468 with 2 HR and 17 RBI.

Debs Champs at Dome, win streak 21 games
These Kids continued to amaze going 6-0 and winning the February 18/19 tournament at the Adirondack Sports complex in Queensbury, NY. Pitchers Abby Canning and Taylor Snyder were fantastic allowing only 1 run and they got lots of offensive support from the entire lineup including 3 homers from Nicole Alleva. The team improved to 27-1 and will take a 21 game win streak into the summer.

Debs Triumph in Adirondack Dome
Our players showed amazing resiliency in the Championship game. After losing a 7-0 lead and being tied 8-8 in the last inning by a tough Nightmare Elite team, the Debs rallied in extra innnings to prevail 14-9. Leanna Feerick, Lauren Gorstein, Taylor Snyder, and Nicole Alleva all homered in the final game to help the team improve to 21-1.

Michie Awarded Scholarship
Pitcher Megan Michie was one of the winners of the annual Mackenzie Travis Educational Fund scholarships awarded to outstanding student/athletes by the hosts of the Delaware Invitational College Showcase tournament. Megan recently began her college career at Colby College where she will also play softball and volleyball.

Kasson All Northeast-10 3rd team and All Acedemic team
Long time Debs speedster and current Bentley University shortstop Stephanie Kasson was named All Northeast-10 Conference 3rd team, batting .362 while leading the team in runs scored with 25 and stealing 12 bases in 12 attempts. Steph also was named to the conferences all Academic team with an outstanding 3.7 GPA!

DeLuccia to Ithaca
Lynzi DeLuccia, an outstanding pitcher and outfielder who has played with the Debs for the past 4 years will be attending Ithaca College and playing for their traditionally strong softball program beginning in the fall of 2011. CONGRATULATIONS LYNZI!

Honors for Reeves
Longtime Debs outfielder, Olivia Reeves was named Northeast-10 Conference Co-Rookie of the Week last week. Playing in her first regular season games for Division II College of St Rose, Olivia batted .433 with 12 RBI, 4 2B and 3 HR in 9 games. Congratulations Olivia!!
