Down Memory Lane (1979)Goals by John Hart (13:09) and Dave Sullivan (13:36) 27 seconds apart late in the second period broke a 2-2 tie and led Durfee to a convincing 8-2 win over the Case Cardinals. The game was tied 1-1 after the first period with Rick Roderick scoring for Durfee. After Case took a 2-1 lead early in the second period, the Hilltoppers' Dave Nobrega tied the game 2-2 at the 11:50 mark. Dave Rockett, Hart, Sullivan and Nobrega all scored in the third period for the 8-2 final. Jack Albin posted the win in goal for Durfee.
Captain Dave Sullivan had the game winning goal as the Hilltoppers defeated New Bedford Voke 4-1 at Driscoll Rink. Dave Rockett, Bob Gagnon and John Hart accounted for the other Durfee goals. Jamie Coleman was in net for Durfee.

Down Memory Lane (1980)
The Durfee Hilltoppers defeated the Somerset Blue Raiders 5-2 at Driscoll Rink. It was Durfee's first win ever over Somerset in school history. Durfee led 1-0 after one period and 4-1 after two stops. Goal scorers for Durfee were Dave Nobrega (1st period), Dennis Pavao, John Hart and Dave Sullivan (2nd period) and Carlin Hart (3rd period). Jamie Coleman turned in an outstanding performance in goal for Durfee.
John Hart scored twice to lead Durfee to a 2-1 win over Bishop Connolly at Driscoll Rink. Dave Sullivan assisted on Hart's game-winning goal late in the second period. Jamie Coleman was in goal for the victorious Hilltoppers.

Durfee opened its season with an impressive 9-0 win over Case. The Hilltoppers were led by the two goal performances of Dave Nobrega and Ricky Roderick.
Durfee's Ricky Coleman and Dave Nobrega scored goals eight seconds apart late in the first period to break a scoreless tie and the Hilltoppers to a 5-1 win over Bishop Connolly.
Durfee tallied two unanswered third period goals (Rick Roderick & Dave Nobrega) to break a 1-1 tie and defeat Somerset 3-1.
Durfee goalie Jamie Coleman registered 31 saves and Dave Nobrega got the game-winning goal in the Hilltoppers' 3-2 win over the New Bedford Whalers at the Hetland Rink.

Durfee goalie Jamie Coleman had 23 saves as the Hillltoppers and D/Y battled to a 0-0 tie at the Cape Cod Coliseum.
The Hilltoppers scored 3 goals in the final 5:28 of play to come from behind and defeat Somerset 4-2 at Driscoll Rink. John Coleman had the game winning goal for Durfee.
Durfee tallied three unanswered third period goals to break open a close game and go on to defeat Bishop Feehan 8-3 at Driscoll Rink. Rick Roderick had a 3-goal hat trick and Ray Kitchen had two goals and two assists to lead the Hilltopper attack.

Trailing 4-1 with just over eight minutes left to play, the Hilltoppers put on an offensive flury and scored four unanswered goals to post a thrilling 5-4 win over the New Bedford Whalers at Driscoll Rink. Chris Boyd scored with 1:44 left to play assisted by Steve Bradbury. Scott Santos chipped in with 2 goals while Jay Alexander and Bobby DaSilva also scored for Durfee.
Scott Santos (3 goals, 1 assist) and Roger Souza (2 goals, 3 assists) led Durfee to an 8-6 win over Coyle at the Taunton State Rink.
Steve Sullivan scored with 4:06 left to play to give Durfee a 5-4 win over Seekonk.

Roger Souza's power-play goal (assisted by Scott Santos) with 2:22 left to play gave Durfee a 4-3 win over Barnstable. It was the first win ever at the Kennedy Memorial Rink in Durfee's history. Bobby Coleman posted 27 saves in goal for the Hilltoppers. Other goal scores in the win for Durfee were Scott Santos, Doug Jarabek and Tim Furtado.
B.J. Farquhar had 2 goals and 1 assist as Durfee stunned Falmouth 5-3 at Driscoll Rink. It was the Hilltoppers' first win ever over the Falmouth Clippers which covered a span of 14 years. Hilltopper goalie Bobby Coleman had 17 saves. Trailing 3-2 entering the final period, the Hilltoppers got goals from Scott Santos, Steve Sullivan and Joe Senra to post the major upset win. The win ran the Hilltoppers unbeaten to streak to seven games going 4-0-3 (W-L-T) over this stretch.

Tim Furtado had a 3 goal hat trick and Russ Gagnon tallied 3 asssits in Durfee's opening day loss to Bishop Feehan 7-4 at Driscoll Rink. This game marked the first game of the Maurer/Costa coaching era.
Durfee rallied from a 5-2 deficit with 3 goals in the fianl 3:27 of the game to gain a 5-5 with the New Bedford Whalers at Hetland Rink. Russ Gagnon (2 goals, 3 assists), Chris Norman (2 goals, 1 assist) and Tim Furtado (1 goal, 1 assist)led the Hilltoppers' attack.
Chris Norman had 3 goals and 2 assists and Russ Gagnon chipped in with 2 goals as the Hilltoppers posted a 6-3 win over Case at Driscoll Rink.
Durfee's Doug Smith scored with 7:06 left to play and goalie Jason Costa posted 22 saves as the Hilltoppers stunned heavily favored Falmouth 1-1 at Driscoll Rink.
Durfee got 25 saves from goalie Jason Costa and Doug Smith scored the game winning goal as the Hiltoppers blanked Dennis/Yarmouth 3-0 in the first high school game ever played at the new Tony Kent Arena.
Durfee goalie Shawn LeComte registered 19 saves and Chip Lindquist scored the game-winning goal as the Hilltoppers posted a 3-2 win over Dartmouth at Driscoll Rink.
Durfee had a game tieing goal disallowed with 16 seconds left to play and dropped a controversial 4-3 decision to Falmouth at the Falmouth Ice Arena. Russ Gagnon led the Durfee attack with 2 goals. Jason Costa was outstanding in goal for Durfee.
Durfee got two goal performances from Russ Gagnon and Tim McDonald in a 6-1 win over Somerset.
Doug Smith scored on a breakaway with 1:35 left to play as Durfee defeated Case 4-3 at Driscoll Rink. Case High came into the game with 18 wins on the season and its only 2 losses were at the hands of Durfee.

A 5 goal, 2 assist performance by Durfee's Doug Smith was the highlight in the Hilltoppers' convincing 15-3 win over Case. Tim Furtado tallied 3 goals, 3 assists and Russ Gagnon had 2 goals, 4 assists for Durfee.
Durfee's Russ Gagnon scored two goals as the Hilltoppers battled powerful Falmouth to a 3-3 tie at Driscoll Rink. Falmouth's Tim Peterson scored with 59 seconds left to play to gain the tie for the Clippers. Durfe goalie Jason Costa was outstanding recording 36 saves.
Durfee exploded for five second period goals on way to a convincing 11-4 win over taunton at the Taunton State Rink. Graham Charland (3), Russ Gagnon (3), and Tim Furtado (2)scored for Durfee while John Brum, Doug Smith and Chris Norman all had three assists.
Durfee's Graham Charland led the Hilltoppers with a three goal hat trick performance as they defeated the New Bedford Whalers 7-3 at Hetland Rink. Topper goalie Jason Costa had 28 saves.
Two goal performances by Russ Gagnon and Graham Charland led Durfee to a 4-2 win over Somerset at Driscoll Rink. Chris Norman and Ryan Nobrega each had two assists.
Durfee got third period goals from Doug Smith and Russ Gagnon to break open a close 2-1 game and lead the Hilltoppers to a well earned 4-1 win over Coyle/Cassidy at the Taunton State Rink. Topper goalie Jason Costa was outstanding posting 24 saves.
Russ Gagnon scored three goals and Chris Norman chipped in with one goal and four assists as Durfee defeated King Philip Regional 9-2 at the Franklin Rink. The game also marked the varsity debut of Eric Bertrand who scored his first varsity goal.
Durfee's final game of the season saw the Hilltoppers post an impressive 7-2 win over Somerset. Russ Gagnon had 3 goals and Doug Smith 2 goals to lead the attack. Gagnon's second goal of the game was his 50th career goal at Durfee. Goalie Shawn LeComte posted 20 saves for Durfee.

Down Memory Lane (1990)
Durfee's Doug Smith set a school record with 8 goals as the Hilltoppers defeated Somerset 11-3 at Driscoll Rink. The date of this record performing effort was 2-5-90.
Durfee's John Brum scored a pure hat trick in leading the Hilltoppers to a 3-3 tie against powerful Falmouth. Durfee goalie Jason Costa was superb in recording 44 saves.
Kevin Brum, Doug Smith and Lou DaSilva each scored for Durfee in a 3-3 tie against a strong Bishop Feehan team at the Taunton State Rink. The Hilltoppers came very close to pulling off a major upset Feehan goalie Dave Cloutier denied Durfee's John Brum on a breakaway with 15 seconds left to play.
Durfee goalie Jason Costa was outstanding and the under-manned Hilltoppers put forth a courageous effort in battling Bishop Connolly to a 0-0 tie in the first Challenge Cup. The game officially goes in the books as a tie but Bishop Connolly was awarded the Cup by virtue of a triple overtime shootout. This game has been called by many as "the greatest high school hockey game ever played at Driscoll Rink."

Down Memory Lane (1997-98 Season)
Durfee opened their 1997-98 season with a well balanced attack as the Hilltoppers saw six different players tally goals on their way to a convincing 6-1 win over Coyle/Cassidy at Driscoll Rink. Mike Medeiros, Keith Oliver, Jon Cabral, Brian Dedrick, Danny Crowley and Kevin Correia were the goal scorers. Jonathan Pimental posted the victory in goal.
A goal by Kevin Narciso (his 2nd of the game) with 6:28 left to play, enabled the Hilltoppers to gain a 2-2 tie with the Somerset Blue Raiders at Driscoll Rink. Craig Feldman had two assists while Jonathan Pimental was strong in goal for Durfee.
The Hilltoppers posted one of the school's best upsets in years as they defeated highly ranked Quincy 3-1 at Driscoll Rink. Jimmy Connolly, Brian Dedrick and Erik Camara accountd for the Durfee goals. Jonathan Pimental was solid in the nets for the Hilltoppers.
The Hilltoppers came very close to pulling off which would have been the biggest upset in their hockey history as they dropped a very hard fought 4-3 decision to Catholic power Austin Prep in a game at Driscoll Rink. Austin Prep got the game winning goal with only 2:23 left to play in the game. Kevin Narciso had two goals for Durfee while Brian Dedrick had the other Hilltopper goal.
Two goals by Erik Camara and single goals by Brian Dedrick, Justin Medeiros, Charlie Sousa and Kevin Narciso led Durfee to a convincing 6-1 over arch-rival Bishop Connolly. The victory captured the "Challenge Cup" for the Hilltoppers. Jonathan Pimental posted the victory in goal. Tied 1-1 after one period, the Hilltoppers broke the game open with three unanswered second period goals.
A first period unassisted goal by Kevin Narciso held up all game as Durfee defeated Coyle/Cassidy 1-0 at the Alexio Rink. The win swept the season series for the Hilltoppers. Jonathan Pimental posted the shutout in goal.

The Durfee Hilltoppers opened their 1998-99 season with a convincing 4-1 win over Coyle/Cassidy at Alexio Rink. Goals by Justin Medeiros, Glenn Rapoza, Craig Feldman and Nate Kizer led the way. John Friar was outstanding in goal for Durfee.
Goals by Jimmy Connolly and Craig Feldman, led Durfee to a hard fought 2-1 win over Ashland at Driscoll Rink. John Friar turned in a solid effort in goal for the Hilltoppers.
A two goal, two assist performance by Kevin Narciso led the Hilltoppers to a convincing 7-0 win over Attleboro at Alexio Rink. Danny Crowley, Jimmy Connolly, Nate Kizer, Glenn Rapoza and Jay Amaral hadthe other goals for Durfee. Chris Fernandes posted the shutout in goal for the Hilltoppers.

A goal by Danny Crowley with only 2:06 left to play lifted the Hilltoppers to a very important 3-2 Big Three Conference win over the New Bedford Whalers at Driscoll Rink. Trailing 2-1 midway through the third period, te Hilltoppers got a goal from Charlie Sousa with 7:04 left to play to tie the game 2-2 and set the stage for Crowley's heroics. John Friar was outstanding in goal for Durfee.
The Hilltoppers posted their biggest output of the season in handing the Diman Bengals an 11-1 defeat at Driscoll Rink. A well balanced attack was the highlight as nine different Hilltoppers scored goals. The goal scorers were as follows: Kevin Narciso (2), Justin Medeiros (2), Jimmy Connolly, Danny Crowley, Nate Kizer, Charlie Sousa, Matt Bourassa and Tommy Sousa. Chris Fernandes had a quiet night in goal making 8 saves.
Trailing 4-3 after two periods, the Hilltoppes exploded for three unanswered third period goals and went on to a well earned 6-4 win over Bishop Connolly in the annual "Challenge Cup" at Driscoll Rink. Accounting for the third period goals were Tommy Sousa, Justin Medeiros and Kevin Narciso. Keith Oliver, Josh Medeiros and Justin Medeiros had scored earlier in the game for Durfee. John Friar was the winning goaltender making 14 saves.
In an unbelievable first period outburst, the Hilltoppers scored six first period goals; four of which came in the opening 6 1/2 minutes of the game as they cruised to a 7-0 win over the New Bedford Whalers at Hetland Rink. Danny Crowley gave Durfee a quick 2-0 lead as he tallied two goals in the opening 45 seconds of play. New Bedford never recovered from it. Other goal scorers for Durfee were Kevin Narciso (3) and Justin Medeiros (2). John Friar posted the shutout in goal.
A three goal, one assist performance by Danny Crowley lifted the Hilltoppers to an 8-6 win over Taunton at Driscoll Rink. Justin Medeiros (2), Jay Amaral, Jimmy Connolly ad Kevin Narciso had the other goals. Chris Fernandes made 16 saves in the win.

Two goals by Danny Crowley led the way as he Hilltoppers defeated North Quincy 4-1 at Driscoll Rink. Jay Amaral and Kevin Narciso had the other goals. John Friar was solid in goal shuting down the high powered North Quincy Red Raiders.
On the road at Alexio Rink, the Hilltoppers blasted the Attleboro Bombardiers 7-0. Jimmy Connolly (2), Jay Amaral, Kevin Narciso, Josh Medeiros, Charlie Sousa and Danny Crowley accounted for the Hilltoppers goals. John Friar posted the shutout in goal.
Two goals by Kevin Narciso and single goals by Danny Crowley and Chrlie Sousa lifted the Hilltoppers to a 4-1 win over the Somerset Blue Raiders at Driscoll Rink. Jay Crowley and Josh Medeiros each had two assists. John Friar continued his banner year in goal for Durfee.
Scoreless after one period, the Hilltoppers scored two goals in both the second and third period as they came away with an impressive 4-1 win over North Quincy in a game played at the Quincy Youth Forum. Kevin Narciso led the way with two goals and an assist. Jay Amaral and Kevin DaSilva had the other Hilltopper goals. Danny Crowley assisted on two of the Durfee goals. John Friar made 18 saves in the win.

In a Big Three Conference game at Driscoll Rink, Durfee rode the goals of Jay Amaral, Kevin DaSilva, Kevin Narciso and Jay Crowley to an impressive 4-2 win over the Brockton Boxers. Danny Crowley chipped in with two assists and John Friar made 19 stops in goal.
John Friar posted a shutout and Durfee got goals from Danny Crowley (2), Kevin DaSilva (2), Jimmy Connolly and Kevin Narciso as they defeated Nauset 6-0 at Driscoll Rink. Narciso also had three assists.
Playing Nauset back to back did not slow the Hilltoppers down at all as John Friar posted another shutout at Charles Moore Rink in Orleans and went on to a 4-0 win. Kevin Narciso (2), Kevin Marques and Craig Feldman scored goals fo Durfee.
The game saw the powerful Hilltoppers defeat the Bishop Connolly Cougars 9-2 at Driscoll Rink. Two goal performances by Kevin Narciso, Jay Amaral, Kevin DaSilva and Jimmy Connolly led the Durfee attack. Craig Feldman had the other Hilltopper goal. Josh Medeiros, Danny Crowley, Connolly and Narciso each collected two assists. John Friar was the winning goaltender.
Tied 2-2 after two periods, Durfee exploded for five thrid period goals and defeated the New Bedford Whalers 7-3 at Hetland Rink in a key Big Three Conference game. Durfee was led by Jimmy Connolly who collected three goals and three assists. Kevin Narciso (2), Charlie Sousa and Kevin DaSilva had the other Durfee goals. John Friar was excellent in goal for Durfee.
On the road at Asiaf Rink in Brockton, the Hilltoppers captured the Big Three Conference Championship with a very impressive 4-0 shutout of the Brockton Boxers. Goals by Jimmy Connolly, Kevin Narciso, Danny Crowley and Jay Crowley led Durfee. Josh Medeiros was credited with two assists. John Friar posted the shutout in goal for Durfee.
The "2000 Challenge Cup" saw the Hilltoppers break open a close 2-1 game after two periods with five unanswered third period goals and went on to win the Challenge Cup, defeating the Bishop Connolly Cougars 7-1 at Driscoll Rink. Kevin Narciso led the way with a four point night (2 goals, 2 assists). Kevin DaSilva (2), Jimmy Connolly, Charlie Sousa and Dave Costa had the other Durfee goals. John Friar was in goal for Durfee.
A two goal performance by Kevin DaSilva led the Hilltoppers to an impressive 3-1 win over Coyle/Cassidy at Driscoll Rink. This win avenged Durfee's only loss of the season as they dropped a 6-3 decision to the Warriors on opening night at the Raynham Rink. Jimmy Connolly scored the other Hilltopper goal and John Friar was solid in goal.
The Hilltoppers posted their 17th consecutive win with a convincing 8-2 win over Ashland at the Navin Rink in Marlboro. Kevin Narciso (3), Jay Amaral (2), Dave Costa, Craig Feldman and Josh Medeiros scored the goals. Jimmy Connolly collected three assists in the win and John Friar recorded the win in goal. This victory sets a school record for consecutive wins in a regular season with 17.

Down Memory Lane (2000-01 Season)
Two goals from Jay Amaral and single goals from Kevin DaSilva and Eric Araujo lifted the Hilltoppers to a 4-2 win over Attleboro at Alexio Rink. DaSilva also had two assists and Jameson Hart posted the win in goal.
In a return match at Driscoll Rink, Durfee dominated the game from start to finish in handing Attleboro a 9-0 defeat. Three goal performances from Ryan Bielawa and Jay Amaral led the way. Chris Tansey (2) and Jay Crowley had the other Hilltoppers goals. Eric Araujo and Jay Crowley each had three assists and Chip Driscoll posted the shutout in goal for Durfee.
Tied 1-1 after one period, Durfee exploded for four unanswered goals in both the second and third periods and went on to a convincing 9-1 over the Diman Bengals at Driscoll Rink. Jay Crowley led the way with three goals and two assists. Other goal scorers for Durfee were Josh Medeiros, Nick Bellany, Tommy Sousa, Kevin Marques, Jay Amaral and Kyle Cusick. A third period goal by freshman Eric Araujo lifted the Hilltoppers to a 1-1 tie with North Quincy at Driscoll Rink. Jameson Hart was spectacular in net for Durfee.
The Hilltoppers had their scoring shoes on this night as they put the red light on seven times in defeating Somerset 7-1 at Driscoll Rink. Two goal performances from Chris Tansey and Ryan Bielawa led the way. Josh Medeiros, Jay Crowley and Eric Araujo had the other goals. Ryan Alecrim was in net for Durfee.
Durfee goalie Jameson Hart ws top of his game this night as the Hilltoppers defeated the Brockton Boxers 3-0 at the Asiaf Rink. Two third perod goals by Ryan Bielawa led Durfee to the win. Kevin DaSilva scored a first period power play goal for Durfee's other score.
Durfee played a strong game in defeating the Diman Bengals 8-2 at Driscoll Rink. A well balanced attack was the highlight. Goal scorers were: Kevin Marques (2), Jay Amaral, Tommy Sousa, Nick Bellany, Matt Bourassa, Ryan Bielawa and Kevin DaSilva.
Durfee played one of its finest games of the season at the LoConte Forum in Medford. Tied at 2-2 early in the third period, the turning point came when the Medford Mustangs were give a 2 man advantage and scored twice over that period and then added another late goal in posting a 5-2 winover the gutty Hilltoppers. Jay Amaral had given Durfee a 1-0 lead early in the second period and Kevin Marques tied it for Durfee at 2-2 early in the third. Jameson Hart turned in a strong effort in goal.
The Hilltoppers dropped a hard fought 1-0 decision to the New Bedford Whalers in an excellently played game at Hetland Rink. Durfee's Eric Araujo was denied on a short-handed breakaway by NB goalie Adam Shoesmith in the third period. Both teams had great scoring oportunities but the goaltending was outstanding, Hart for Durfee and Shoesmith for New Bedford.
In another heart breaking defeat, the Hilltoppers wound up on the short end of a 2-1 score to Brockton in a game played at Driscoll Rink. Eric Araujo had the lone Hilltopper goal. Jameson Hart was in net for Durfee posting 16 saves.
The "2001 Challenge Cup" saw the Hilltoppers defeat the Bishop Connolly Cougars 7-1 at Driscoll Rink. Ryan Bielawa (2), Josh Medeiros, Peter Medeiros, Eric Araujo, Jay Crowley and Jay Amaral accounted for the Durfee goals. Chip Driscoll was in goal for Durfee and recorded 11 saves.
The Hilltoppers finished their 2000-01 season a high note as the defeated a Coyle/Cassidy team who came to Driscoll Rink with 14 wins and a post season MIAA tournament berth and left with a notch in the loss column as Durfee posted a very impressive 4-3 win. Goal scorers for Durfee were Jay Crowley (who left the game early in the second period with a shoulder injury), Jay Amaral, Chris Tansey and Kyle Cusick. Jameson Hart was solid in goal for Durfee turning aside every Coyle/Cassidy third period power play.

Down Memory Lane (2001-02 Season)
The Durfee Hilltoppers opened their 2001-02 season with a convincing 9-1 win over the Somerset Blue Raiders in the opening round of the first annual Prenda Cup Playoffs at Driscoll Rink. The Hilltoppers were led by the three goal and one assist performance of Kevin DaSilva. Chris Tansey chipped in with two goals for Durfee while Peter Medeiros, Matt Bourassa, Nick Bellany and Josh Medeiros each had one. Jameson Hart was in goal for Durfee. The win moved the Hilltoppers into the championship game with Diman.
The Hilltoppers won the first annual Prenda Cup Playoffs with a convincing 6-0 win over the Diman Bengals. Kevin DaSilva and Peter Medeiros each led the way with two goals while Ryan Bielawa and Chris Tansey had the other goals. DaSilva was also named the MVP of the Prenda Cup Playoffs.

Durfee got shutout goaltending from Jameson Hart and goals from Jeff Gregory and Matt Bourassa as they defeated the Brockton Boxers 2-0 at Driscoll Rink. Bourassa's goal was a spectacular short-handed goal late in the second period as he out muscled two Brockton defenders and beat Brockton goalie Mike Malcolm.
Two goals by Chris Tansey and one by Kevin DaSilva gave the Hilltoppers a hard fought 3-3 tie with North Quincy at Driscoll Rink. Earlier in the year, Durfee lost to North Quincy 4-1 at the Quincy Youth Forum.

Ryan Bielawa scored a three goal hat trick in leading Durfee to a convincing 7-1 win over Attleboro at Driscoll Rink. Kevin DaSilva (2), Matt Bourassa and Chris Tansey had the other goals. Kevin Marques chipped in with three assists.
The Hilltoppers got goals from Chris Tansey, Eric Araujo, Kevin DaSilva and Kyle Cusick and defeated the Walpole Rebels 4-1 at Driscoll Rink. The win avenged an early season 2-1 loss to Walpole.
Kevin DaSilva scored a dramatic goal (assisted by Eric Araujo) with only 1:23 left to play as the Hilltoppers defeated Silver Lake 2-1 in the opening round of the MIAA State Tournament at the Falmoth Ice Arena. Silver Lake led 1-0 after two periods but a goal by Kyle Cusick (assisted by Ryan Bielawa) at 5:43 tied the game 1-1. Jameson Hart was in goal for Durfee. This win also avenged an earlier season 4-2 loss to Silver Lake.
Durfee's 2001-02 season came to a close as the Hilltoppers dropped a 6-2 decision to Braintree in the second round of the MIAA State Tournament in a game played at the Bridgewater Rink. Braintree outshot Durfee 32-28 for the game. The game was tied 1-1 after one period and was 4-2 early in the third period when Braintree scored two quick goals only 28 seconds apart to spell doom for the Hilltoppers. Jeff Gregory and Kyle Cusick had the Durfee goals.

Down Memory Lane (2002-03 Season)
The Hilltoppers opened this season with a 10-2 thumping of the Bishop Connolly Cougars in the semi-final round of the Prenda Cup playoffs. Durfee led 3-0 after one period and 7-0 after two stops. Billy Burdick's six point performance (4 goals, 2 assists) led Durfee to the win. Chris Tansey (2), Kevin DaSilva (2), Nick Bellany and Jeff Gregory had the other Durfee goals. Drew Croan was credited with five assists for the Toppers while Chip Driscoll was in goal.
The Durfee Hilltoppers won their second consecutive Prenda Cup championship with a convincing 8-3 win over the Somerset Blue Raiders. The highlight of the win was the five point (3 goals, 2 asssits) performance of senior forward Chris Tansey and the three goal performance of senior forward Kevin DaSilva. Durfee dominated from start to finish leading 2-0 after one period and 6-0 after two stops. Chip Driscoll posted the win in goal. Eric Araujo and Chris Pacheco had the other Hilltoppers' goals.
A six goal second period proved to be the difference as the Hilltoppers posted an exciting 6-5 win over Brookline at driscoll Rink. Junior forward Eric Araujo led the way with a three goal hat-trick performance. Chris Pacheco, Kevin DaSilva and Chris Tansey had the other Durfee goals. Defenseman Kyle Cusick kicked in with two assists. Chip Driscoll was in goal for Durfee.
In a shootout at Driscoll Rink, the Hilltoppers and Bishop Feehan battled to a 7-7 tie. Durfee rallied form a 6-3 third period deficit with four goals over the final 6:29 of play to get the tie. Chris Tansey scored the game tying goal with only 1:03 left to play. The line of Tansey (3 goals), Eric Araujo (2 goals) and Kevin DaSilva (2 goals) accounted for all the scoring. Durfee was trailing 7-4 with under three minutes to play but tallied three goals in the final 2:37 of play.
In a key Big Three Conference showdown at the Asiaf Rink in Brockton, the Toppers and Boxers skated to a 2-2 tie. Eric Araujo and Evan Tabicas tallied goals for Durfee and Chip Driscoll was solid in goal.
Three third period goals lifted the Hilltoppers to an exciting 3-1 win over Silver Lake at Driscoll Rink. The game was scoreless going into the third period. Jeff Gregory (2), and Chris Pacheco scored for Durfee while Chris Tansey chipped in with two assists. Chip Driscoll was solid in goal. This victory avenged a loss to Silver Lake early in the season when Silver Lake defeated Durfee 8-1 and outshot them 52-15 in a game at the Hobomock Arena. This was truly an awesome win for the Hilltoppers.
In a Big Three Conferecne game at Driscoll Rink, the Hilltoppers broke open a close 2-1 game after two periods with five unanswered third period goals on way to a convincing 7-1 win over the New Bedford Whalers. Sixteen third period penalties (12 of which went to Attleboro) made for a scrappy game, but the Hilltoppers easily prevailed over the Bombardiers by a 7-2 score. The Durfee goal scoring was spread out pretty equally. Kevin DaSilva (2), Nick Bellany, Bill Burdick, Eric Araujo, Dave Lepage and Evan Tabicas accounted for the goals.
In a key return Big Three Conference game, the Hilltoppers defeated the Brockton Boxers 1-0 at Driscoll Rink. The lone goal was scored in the first period by Chris Tansey with asssits going to Jeff Gregory and Billy Burdick. Chip Driscoll posted the shutout in goal. The win at the time clinched at least a tie for the Big Three championship.
On the road at Hetland Rink in New Bedford, the Hilltoppers captured the Big Three Championship with a convincing 7-2 win over the New Bedford Whalers. The win was highlighted by the five point (4 goals, 1 asssit) performance of junior forward Eric Araujo. Kevin DaSilva, Jeff Gregory, and Billy Burdick accounted for the Durfee goals. Defenseman Chris Tansey also chipped in with three assists. Chip Driscoll was again solid in goal.
At Alexio Rink in Taunton, the Hilltoppers cruised to a convincing 5-0 win over Attleboro. Chris Tansey led the way with two goals and an assist. Billy Burdick, Kevin DaSilva and Jeff Gregory had the other Durfee goals.
The Durfee Hilltoppers led 2-0 after one period and 6-0 after two stops and went on to a 9-2 win over the Bishop Connolly Cougars and captured the Challenge Cup Championship at Driscoll Rink. Kevin DaSilva led the way with threee goals and two assists. Eric Araujo chiped in with two goals and threee assists while Billy Burdick, Chris Tansey, Evan Tabicas and Chris Pacheco had the other goals. Chip Driscoll was in goal for Durfee.

The Hilltoppers opened their 2003-04 season with a convincing 9-2 win over the Diman Bengals in the semi-final round of the Prenda Cup playoffs. Jeff Gregory led the Durfee attack with a three goal hat trick while Kyle Cusick and Justin Howarth each added two scores. Jared Pavao and Chris Pacheco accounted the the other Durfee goals. Jim McNaughton was in goal for Durfee. The Hilltoppers led 3-0 after one period and 7-2 after two stops.
The Hilltoppers lost the Prenda Cup final round game to the Somerset Blue Raiders by a 5-3 score. Durfee, trailing 4-1 in the third period rallied on goals by Chris Pacheco and Jeff Gregory to make it 4-3 but Somerset got an insurance goal with 6:22 left to play. Jared Pavao had the other Hilltoppers' goal.
The Hilltoppers fell behind Silver Lake 4-0 in the first period, rallied to make it 4-3 with 7:07 left to play but could never get the equalizer in dropping a 4-3 decision at Driscoll Rink. Jeff Gregory, Jake Alexander and Chris Pacheco score for Durfee and Pat Pankowski had two assists. Jim McNaughton was in goal.

Justin Howarth scored with only 1:47 left to play as the Hilltoppers stuned Silver Lake 6-5 at the Hobomock Arena in Pembroke. Durfee trailed 5-3 after two periods and responded with three unanswered third period goals. Jeff Gregory led the Toppers' attack with three goals and an assist. Chris Pacheco and Jake Alexander had the other Durfee goals while Pat Pankowski played a key role recording four assists.
The Hilltoppers battled the New Bedford Whalers to a 2-2 at Driscoll Rink. Kyle Cusick and Zack Cabral had the Durfee goals while Jim McNaughton was outstanding between the pipes for Durfee.
A three goals and two assits performance by Chris Pacheco was more than enough as Durfee cruised to a convincing 7-1 win over the Tauntaon Tigers at Driscoll Rink. Pat Pankowski, Robert Dunse, Justin Howarth and Kyle Cusick also scored goals for Durfee. Jeff Gregory contributed with four assists while Pankowski chipped in with three.
At Driscoll Rink, the Toppers and Brockton battled to a 2-2 tie. Chris Pacheco and Jeff Gregory tallied for Durfee while Jim McNaughton played a strong game in goal.

The Hilltoppers opened their 2004-05 season with a 6-3 win over the Diman Bengals in the semi-final round of the Prenda Cup playoffs. It was bombs away as the Hilltoppers, led by the nine point performance (4 goals, 5 assists) of Jake Alexander defeated the Taunton Tigers 15-2 at the Alexio Rink. Justin Howarth and Taylor Andrade each chipped in with a three goal hat trick performance. Other goal scorers for Durfee were Robert Dunse (2), Alan Thibeault, Josh Roseberry and Kyle Garant.Jared Marum had four asssits while Taylor Andrade and Robert Dunse each had three. Jim McNaughton was in goal for Durfee.

Trailing 3-1 entering the third period, the Hilltoppers scored two unanswered goals and gained a 3-3 tie with the Brockton Boxers at Asiaf Rink. Pat Pankowski led the way for Durfee with two goals while Alan Thibeault got the equalizer. Jim McNaughton was solid between the pipes for Durfee.
Three second period goals was all Durfee neeeded as they posted a thrilling 3-2 win over Martha's Vineyard at Driscoll Rink. Alan Thibeault, Jake Alexander and Dustin Andrade accounted the the Durfee goals. The play of goalie Jim McNaughton presereved the victory for the Hilltoppers.
After losing 7-2 to the New Bedford Whalers five days earlier, the Hilltoppers stunned the Whalers 4-1 at the Hetland Rink. Zack Cabral, Pat Pankowski, Kevin Botelho and Jake Alexander accounted for the Durfee scoring while the play of goalie Kevin Pacheco was a key factor.
Two third period goals was more than enough for the Hilltoppers as they defeated Bridgewater/Raynham 3-1 at the Bridgewater Ice Arena. Zack Dupere led the way scoring two goals while Zack Cabral added one. Jim McNaughton was outstanding in goal.
A third period goal by Justin Howarth powered the Hilltoppers past the Attleboro Bombadiers 3-2 at the Driscoll Rink. Kevin Botelho and Jared Marum had the other Durfee goals while Jim McNaughton played well in goal.
The Hilltoppers really let a sure victory get away and lost the Challenge Cup to the Bishop Connolly Cougars 5-3. Durfee, on the strength of goals by Alan Thibeault, Taylor Andrade and Jared Marum were leading 3-0 in the third period only to see the Cougars score five unanswered goals in the final 11:37 of play. For the records, Dustin Andrade assisted on two of Durfee's three goals.
