MANDATORY Parent Meeting for all middle school tennis players on Monday, Sept.14th at 7:30pm at the DHS Courts.

The following is a reward program for those middle schoolers entering the 2009-2010 school year with a certain level of fitness and a continued involvement in the sport. **THIS IS NOT TO MAKE THE TEAM-ONLY TO REWARD THOSE THAT CAN ACHIEVE A HIGH LEVEL OF POINTS WITH A NEWER UNIFORM,ETC.

 JR. ACE Team Program 2009-2010!

 All players involved in the Duncanville Middle School Tennis program will be expected to maintain a level of fitness and dedication to the sport. The following guidelines with the respective incentive programs are to help ensure that our players and program is functioning at a high level. Players will not be released from the program because of inadequate scores alone, but should look at this as an opportunity to excel.

The 2 components are Strength and Conditioning and Dedication to the Sport of Tennis 

 Players who achieve 50 or more points will achieve Excellence Status!*Provided all other eligibility requirements are met.

Players who achieve 25-49 points will achieve Team Status!*Provided all other eligibility requirements are met. 

Strength and Conditioning Component:

  • Test-Aerobic Conditioning (1 mile run)

  • Test-Anaerobic Conditioning (SSV mobility drill * 2)

Summer Camps- One point for each day attended (must be coach-approved)

Private lessons or group lessons – one point for each (must be coach approved)

 

Requirements for Excellence Status  -  Athletes must maintain passing average entire year.; Ahtlete must lead by example and demonstrate the DISD Tennis Core Values; Maintain level of fitness.

 Benefits of qualifying for Excellence Status!
  • Receive Jr. ACE program shirt to be worn at practices and matches.
  • Will have the option of picking up balls after practice (unless coach deems necessary)
  • Will be allowed to “opt out” of endurance runs (unless coach deems necessary)
