FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS FUN NIGHT

Thanks to everyone that was able to make it out to the Friday Night fun-night of soccer under the lights at Rite Hite's practice facility!!  It is safe to say that plenty of fun was had by all those that attended!  Between the U11 boys and girls teams we had a combined 33 players attend, and they all got plenty of playing time.  The night started out with 2 short-sided fields and matched up coed teams of 6, playing 5 minute games with very fast substitutions to keep the games moving.  Half way through the teams were mixed back up and they continued with more short sided games.  After an hour of 6v6 games, we split up the boys and the girls and played a large field 8v8 game of boys vs. girls.  Both teams played great soccer during this match-up with great sportsmanship and a lot of fun chatter going back and forth.  The final result was a 3-1 decision for the boys, but that really didn't matter after it was all said and done, as all the players really enjoyed the game and the friendly competition. 
There were a lot of requests for another fun night this year yet, and work has begun to get that underway for our players.  Excellent job to all the parents for getting the kids to the fields, and great job to all the players for having fun and for bringing a really great attitude to the fun night.  Well done Dubuque Soccer Club U11 players!!!!
