Here Come the Hawks

...Welcome to the Home of the 18U DuPage Diamond Dawgs...

Welcome to the Dawg Pound

The 18U DuPage Diamond Dawgs are a hard working, competitive, family oriented organization dedicated to developing our girls softball skills and getting them ready to play at the high school and college levels. We play a College Exposure Schedule. In 2013 we captured a Tournament Championship, Qualified for the Super 64 in the Colorado Sparkler and finished in 3rd Place at the 2013 ASA 18u "A" Northern Nationals. In 2012 we finished 3rd in the Colorado Sparkler. In prior years we have participated in the Pennsbury Invitational, Colorado Fireworks/Sparkler, St. Louis College Showcase, Sparks and local college exposure tournaments.   Once again this season we plan on a schedule with a heavy emphasis on entering College Exposure Tournaments. In 2013-14 we are participating in the Sparks Pumpkinfest, St. Louis College Showcase and the Colorado Fireworks, as well as a trip to Nationals. We are excited about the upcoming 2013-14 season because our Dawgs have put together a roster that promises to solid on offense and defense. Since our first 18U team in 2006 the Dawgs organization has been proud of the fact that they have prepared 18 players that have moved on to play College Softball

We invite you to learn more about the 18U Diamond Dawgs by surfing our web site. And since you've taken the time to make a stop in the Dawg Pound, please be sure to sign our guestbook. Best wishes to all of you for a fun and successful season!

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Kristina Shahan, a senior at Plainfield Central High School, has signed a letter of intent to continue her education and playing career at Olivet Nazarene University as a member of the softball team.

“When I walked on campus I felt at home,” comments Shahan of her decision. “I loved the campus and knew it was right for me. When I met Coach [Ritchie] Richardson I knew I wanted to play for him.”

Shahan, a catcher, is a three-year letter winner at Plainfield Central under the direction of head coach Anne Campbell. As a member of the DuPage Diamond Dawgs summer travel team, she compiled a batting average of .426 with 43 hits, nine triples, 10 doubles and 10 walks.

Dusty's Diamonds

The best way to improve your game is constant repetition of fundamental skills ~ Mike Candrea, Coach of Team USA , 2004 Olympic Champions

A team is knowing when a ball is hit over your head, you have enough faith in the girl behind you, not to turn around because you know she’s got it! ~ Unknown

Dusty's Laundry Tips

Are you kidding? Dusty The Diamond Dawgs Laundry tips? Dusty inflicts muddy paw prints! He doesn't train you to remove them! But, just a reminder from our uniform supplier that your uniforms should NOT have fabric softener added to them either in the washer or softener sheets in the dryer. Fabric softener will cause the silk screening to lose its adhesion to the fabric and peel off the uniforms! Don't let this happen to you! This has been a public service announcement from your friends at The Dawg Pound.
