Tammy Blake-Kath – Head Volleyball Coach
Richly endorsed by a classy coaching portfolio that includes three trips to the prestigious NCAA Division II North Central Regional tournament, TAMMY BLAKE-KATH begins her 12th season as head volleyball coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead this fall. Blake-Kath has produced a 198-153 overall record in 11 seasons at MSUM that includes one NSIC championship, three runnerup finishes and three trips to NCAA Division II regional play. The centerpiece was the magical 28-4 run in 2000 that included a school record 17-match win streak, the return of the NSIC title to MSU Moorhead and a first ever appearance at the NCAA Division II North Central Regional Championships. It also earned Blake-Kath Regional Coach of the Year honors.
Susan Kolbow – Assistant Volleyball Coach
A member of the Dragon volleyball family since 2001, Susan Kolbow was promoted to head assistant coach at Minnesota State University Moorhead last spring. A four-year letterwinner and co-captain of the 2005 Dragons, Kolbow served as a student-assistant coach last fall. She was a setter and defensive specialist during her collegiate career at State.
Angie Gross – Second Assistant Coach
A new addition to the Dragon volleyball family, Angela Gross graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 1998 with a secondary life science teaching certificate. Gross taught Biology at Sunnyslope High School in Phoenix, AZ from 1998 until 2005. She became the head volleyball coach at Sunnyslope High in 2000 and established a successful program. She built a career record of 129-49 with three region championships. She led SHS to the state quarterfinals three times and the state semifinals in 2005. She was honored as Region Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2004.
Current Volleyball Players
The rest of the staff will be made up of current collegiate level volleyball players. All of them know the game very well, with most of them having Junior Olympic Volleyball experience.
