"If it is placed upon your heart; then you must do more. Do not complain about the things that you are not willing to help fix. Help someone to face their obstacles and build from them. Do not find joy in someone’s pain; lend a hand. If you are not a part of the solution, then you have looked the other way. Do not find fault in someone’s downfall; just help someone so that they can STAND. Never say never; just try to learn from what you see and hear. Do not hold others to standards and expectations that you have yet to experience. Everyone can do something; there are hidden talents in all of us. Do not pass judgment during turmoil; try to be a positive member of your community. Instead of looking for excuses, please invest in a child? Your support does not have to be monetary; talk to them, applaud them for their efforts, help them to understand that there are two paths, and they have the right to choose. They do not have to be a product of their environment; show that you genuinely care. Do something; do not wait for someone to ask you. This is your city, these are your children. We must STAND together, so that they may one day realize their dreams. This is why the Dorchester Eagles mean so much to me. I understand our yesterday and truly believe in our tomorrow."
