Follow-Up on Player Assessments
Another Player Assessment will be conducted on Monday, 9-November at Candlewood Middle School. These assessments are mandatory for all players in grades 3 through 12 that were not able to attend the sesion on 1-November. Only players that are assessed will be drafted onto teams for the 2009-2010 Intramural Season. Players skills will be assessed and the information provided to the Coaches for each Division. The Coaches will be responsible for drafting players onto their teams with the intent of establishing parity across all teams in the Division.
The schedule of assessments is as follows. Please make every attempt to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier than your assigned time to check-in at the registration desk.
Boys: 3rd through 8th Grade: 7:00pm
Girls: 3rd Grade and Up: 7:00pm
Boys: 9th thru 12th Grade: 8:00pm

DHBA Commisioner and Coaches Meeting
All Commisioners and Coaches for the 2009-2010 Intramural Season are expected to attend our inaugural Coaches Meeting. This meeting will be held at Candlewood Middle School (cafeteria) on Wednesday, 21-October from 7:30pm till 9:30pm. Please make every effort to attend. We will be discussing the current division layouts as well as the scheduled Assessment Sessions and subsequent drafts. We will also discuss coaching responsibilities and DHBA expectations of our coaches as well as answer any questions you may have for the upcoming season.

Instructional Program (Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade)
We are curently forming the teams for our Saturday Instructional Program for those children in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade. Players in this age group will be contacted by their coaches prior to the first session scheduled to begin on 21-November. At this time, you will also be made aware of your child's specific time slot. We have already scheduled the Girls in K, 1st and 2nd Grade in the 9am to 10am timeslot.
If you have not been contacted by your child's coach by 15-November, please don't hesitate contacting the League Office at (631) 777-8475. We look forward to another "fun" Instructional Season.

Travel Team Tryouts
Travel Team Tryouts will be held on Friday, 25-Sep-2009 at Candlewood Middle School.
- 5th Grade Boys - Coach Bresky at 6pm in the "old" gym
- 6th Grade Boys - Coach Jones at 6pm in the "new" gym
- 6th Grade Boys - Coach White at 7:30pm in the "old" gym
- 8th Grade Boys - Coach Starling at 7:30 in the "new" gym"

Attention Travel Coaches
Anyone interested in coaching travel basketball for the 2009-10 season must email Glenn Stanis at kssjms2@optonline.net by 9/11/09 with a request to coach.
This includes travel coaches from the 2008-09 season that wish to return. Tryouts for travel teams will be planned and scheduled based upon the responses received by that date. Thank You.
