On April 4, while returning from a patrol outside of Kandahar, Afghanistan, Private Terry Street was killed when an improvised explosive device exploded under the armoured vehicle that his patrol was travelling in. There is a link above to the full story.
Terry was just 24 years old, and a Whalley Little League alumnus who played from age 5 to 18 years of age in Whalley. He was a member of the 2000 Senior Canadian Regional Championship team which represented Canada at the Senior World Series.
Terry's parents, Bill and Diane Street, also served for many years as Whalley volunteers, and Bill is a past president of that league.
A memorial service was held in Surrey on April 12. Our thoughts, prayers and love are with the Street family in this time of sorrow.
