District 3 Mourns the Loss of a Little League Giant

It is with regret and sorrow that I announce the passing of Chuck Bailey, a Little Leaguer for over 50 years. Chuck passed away on March 20, after a lengthy, hard fought battle against leukemia.

Chuck started with East Surrey Little League, and eventually moved to Whalley, a League he was synonymous with for the past 45 years. Chuck served as a coach, attending the Little League World Series twice, and 11 years as District Administrator in District 3. He also served as an ADA, and at the time of his passing, was President of Whalley Little League and Little League BC.

A memorial service was held March 31, and was attended by over 1000 people, including local, provincial and federal politicians who had come to know Chuck through his community efforts on behalf of Little League.

His legacy will live on.
