Delavan Darien Youth Wrestling: Welcome
Delavan Darien Youth Wrestling has been part of the community for over 20 years. The goal of the club is to introduce youth to the sport of wrestling in a fun and friendly environment.
Our coaching staff includes a head coach that has coached numerous regional, conference and state champions from the youngest wrestling level to the HS level. The remainder of our coaches are former D-DHS and college level wrestlers, including coaches that also assist at the high school level.
The coaching staff begins with teaching our youngest wrestlers the basics of the sport and continues to help the wrestler advance his/her skills through the years. The goal is to teach the kids at all skill levels and have them participate in meets to gain confidence and ability throughout their wrestling careers.
Each year the Delavan Darien Youth Club particpates in many local youth tournaments, again with the goal to teach the kids the sport of wrestling and allow the kids to hone their skills. in 2011, we were represented at the Youth State Meet by 6 of our wrestlers.
Many of our Club "graduates" have gone on to wrestle at D-DHS (and other area high schools) and achieved numerous Conference, Regional, Sectional and State titles. In the 2010-2011 season, there were 3 of our former club members that participated in the WIAA State Wrestling Meet, with all 3 placing in the top 6 in the state; there were also former club members in the top 3 at the regional meet and on the medal stand at the conference meet. They all learned and honed their skills throughout their youth with the DD Youth Wrestling Club!

The DD Youth Wrestling Club had 14 wrestlers compete at the Kenosha Regional Tournament on March 9, 2012. There are 4 wrestlers that qualified and 1 alternate for the State Tournament on March 23 - 24, 2012 in Madison WI.

Monday, December 5
Practices will start on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 5:30!! Meet in the DDHS Wrestling Room - in the balcony area of the small Gym.
younger kids practice 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
older kids practice 6:00 - 7:30 p.m.
For those that are in need to wrestling shoes, the club has some that people have donated for use - sizes are varied, there will be a box of shoes available to look at throughout the first few weeks of practice.
