THE BEGINNING:
The Delaware Sharpshooters were formed in 1995 by Duane Coverdale and Frank Brown due to a lack of recruiting exposure in Delaware, Eastern Shore Maryland, and Eastern Shore Virginia. The Sharpshooters have placed over 90% of its participants in college including 2 players that have played on NCAA Division 1 National Championship teams.
THE SUCCESS:
The Delaware Sharpshooters have established themselves as the premiere program in Delaware, the Eastern Shore, and one of the top programs in the Mid-Atlantic Region. The Sharpshooters participate in the highest exposure and most competitive tournaments in the nation including: Boo Williams, Charlie Weber, Bob Gibbons, Peach Jam, AAU Nationals, and the Reebok Big Time to name a few. In 1999 the Sharpshooters finished 6th at the AAU Nationals, the highest finish ever for a Delaware basketball travel team.
