The DeMarini Zephyrs Gold will be making the transition from 16U to Gold for 2011-2012. We are a JO girls fastpitch softball team based out of Kansas City. Our mission is to provide opportunities for female scholar athletes who have the desire to play softball at the collegiate level, affording them the best possible chance for exposure. We desire to promote female athletes physically trained and mentally conditioned to enter the collegiate playing field as a means of obtaining a college education. The team believes strongly in service to those around us who are less fortunate through community projects. The coaches and players hope to achieve many goals during the 2011-2012 season, ultimately leading to a berth to the 2012 Premier Girls Championship in Huntington Beach, CA

DEMARINI ZEPHYRS announces new name and multi-year partnership with Wilson DeMarini
The DEMARINI Zephyrs has just reached an agreement with the Wilson - DeMarini Sporting Goods Co. to provide sponsorship in the form of equipment for tournaments over the next three years. The sporting goods giant will be an exclusive equipment sponsor for the Gold team.

DeMarini Invitational
The Demarini Zephyrs were invited to play in the prestigious 18Gold event held in Chicago, Illinois. They were the only 16U team from the MO, KS, NE, IA, AR area to be invited. The girls played excellent with many highlights from the event. The exposure was great, held at only one complex allowing coaches to optimize their time. There were over 100 coaches that checked into the event. The DZ girls played tough finishing second in their pool. They beat excellent teams in the OK Force, MI Finesse, GA Elite, TX Sudden Impact, Homer Hawks, and MN Blizzard. The tournament came to an end on Sunday after leading most of the game to the East Cobb Bullets. It was an excellent game on both sides with both teams deserving to win; the game went 2 ½ hours and 11innings. Our girls did excellent at one of the best tournaments of the year! Fifth place finish.
Monday, August 1
Colorado Fireworks
The girls played excellent finishing first in their pool, one of the top pools at the tournament. The girls were undefeated in pool, beating excellent organizations and teams in the California Firecrackers and the San Diego renegades. The team rolled into bracket play and won their first three run ruling the So Cal pumas and shutting out an excellent Hawks team from Chicago. Personally, as a coach the most exciting outcome from the tournament 2 girls were offered scholarships to play at the Division 1 level. The team finished in the top 10!!!

Fall Season End
We had a great fall season finishing 16-1-1 with great exposure and the chance to play excellent competition. The girls came out and shut down some of the top teams in the country including the AZ Hotshots Gold. The girls were rockstars getting better each week, we are sad the fall season came to an end they were just starting to peak. The girls worked very hard and made huge improvements scoring over 100 runs to 13 of our opponents. We had two verbals in the fall and are very proud of Haley and Cheyenne. We appreciate the college campus sites and local schools that allowed us to either play at or scrimmage your team this fall.
