A MESSSAGE FROM THE FOOTBALL COMMISSIONER
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2009 Football Season with the Dale City Sports Club!
To get the season off on the right foot, we would like to tell you a little bit about our organization and let you know what you can expect from the 2009 Football Season. The DCSC is an all-volunteer, non-profit youth athletics organization.
Our goal is to focus not only on athletic skills, but to instill in our children a sense of pride and excellence. We believe we have a responsibility to teach our children not only on the field, but off the field as well, to be positive role models, and to serve their needs ahead of our own.
To help achieve our goals, DCSC developed a vision statement under which we operate, and we have adopted the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) Parents Code of Ethics for use in our organization. We request you read them, and be prepared to adhere accordingly, these are located on this web site.
The purpose of the DCSC Football program is to provide the youth residing in the geographical boundaries of Prince William County the opportunity to participate in organized youth athletic programs in a positive, healthy, and supportive atmosphere. The age/weight divisions in this program are based on a system used throughout the Prince William County area. It groups players of comparable size and ability together, allowing children to compete against others of similar size and experience. Each week we will be playing teams in the Prince William County area.
This allows our children to play against kids they have never met before. This will be truly exciting for the children and is an experience that cannot be matched in any in-house league.
