Check out the web sites for the Great Lakes Basketball Association (GLBA)
and the Tri-State Soccer
League (TSL). The GLBA is a NEW semi-professional basketball league
based out of Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. Presently GLBA hopes to have 8-16
member franchises and is seeking individuals/groups to organize, own, and manage
franchises in their communities. Each franchise is required to have a men's
basketball team, women's basketball team, and cheerleading squad.
The TSL is a NEW semi-professional soccer league based out of Michigan,
Indiana, and Ohio. Presently TSL hopes to have 6-12 member franchises and is seeking
individuals/groups to organize, own, and manage franchises in their communities. Each
franchise is required to have a men's soccer team, women's soccer team, and cheerleading squad.

This could be a great thing. It would be nice if it would replace some of these soccer fields on the eastside of Evansville.
Fastpitch softball has become a poular sport on the eastside and in the general area the complex is being built at.Evansville,Newburgh,Boonville,spencer County area have all sent teams to the state finals the last 5 years,The Tigers and Knights have captured State titles the last two seasons. Maybe some thought should be put into making four girls softball fields instead of two. That would attract LOTS of intrest from the outside also. Good Luck! |
