Bullets - Code of Conduct
Each year brings new challenges for each team and its members. Following are some guidelines; a Code of Conduct if you will to help everyone involved having an enjoyable and successful season: Etiquette Baseball has always been described as A Gentlemens Sport. Softball is no different except its participants are young LADIES. Each player and parent is expected to represent his or her team in a manner respectful to everyone affiliated with practices, tournaments and scrimmages on and off the field, including umpires (Umpires have feelings too). When in doubt, think of the Golden Rule, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Commitment Each players family and schoolwork take a priority over softball. Your coaches / teammates expect the same commitment as your parents and teachers. Practices / tournaments are the responsibility of each player. Both parents and players need to arrange transportation to and from all scheduled team events. Contact your coach if any conflicts and / or anticipated absences ahead of time. 24 hours before practice and 30-day notice for scheduled tournaments. Unexcused absences / tardiness will effect your playing time. Athletic Ability Each player is expected to dedicate herself mentally and physically to improving her skills, and perform to the best of their abilities. You will play as you practice. I have yet to see any player able to perform at superior standards in a game if those same standards are not met in practice (In other words, ladies, I expect 100% in practice at all times.) No one is expected to be perfect, but we will strive for excellence in everything we do as individuals and as a team, remember this is a TEAM SPORT. An individual needs or capabilities will not be held higher than that of the team. Hard work, respect and encouragement for others on the team will yield playing time. There are no guarantees of position(s) or playing time made to individuals. Should there be any questions of any player not benefiting from practice or playing time, approach your coaches and each situation will be addressed individually. Team violations by players will be discussed individually with the parents / players and coaches. Continued or reoccurring violations of the codes of conduct mentioned above may result in partial or permanent suspension from team events. Suspension will be discussed among the coaching staff. All final decisions will be made by the Head coach. In closing, all parents are encouraged to assist with team activities such as scorekeeping, fund raising, etc., this is a volunteer effort, including your coaches. Your coaches are committed to provide all players the opportunity to improve their skills and to play softball. Players and parent / guardians your commitment is requested as well. |
