Dover Little League Mission Statement

The objective of the Dover Little League is to implant firmly in the boys and girls of the community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage and reverence, so that they may be finer, stronger, and happier boys and girls and will grow to be good, clean, and healthy men and women. We will provide a program to all the boys and girls regardless of race, ethnicity, or creed that is competitive and educational in both baseball and softball. The objective will be achieved by providing supervised and structured games.  The winning of a game is secondary to the primary objective of molding our future men and women.

Important Dates, Times, and Fees

  Registration Fees:

Total children

Total Registration Fee Concession Fee  (*see note)

Total Fee

1 child $85.00        $25.00   $110.00
2 children $135.00 (total for both)        $50.00   $185.00
3 or more children $165.00 (max total)     $50.00 max                $215.00
             * (A $5.00 processing fee, per total transaction, is charged for credit card payments only)  * Important Special Note: Again this year we are implementing an additional fee, which is a concessions fee. At the time of registration we are adding an additional fee of $25 dollars for each player, with a family maximum of $50 dollars. This fee will be held in our safe until a later date TBA. All that we are asking is that when it is your teams turn to work in the concession stand that you participate by volunteering just (4) hours of your time helping in the concession stand. A log will be kept of all volunteers and at the end of the season your $25.00 fee will be returned to you. All other Little Leagues in our district have done this for years. Our concession stand is responsible for over 25% of the revenues needed to run Dover Little League effectively. Dover Little League is a non-profit organization and we solely rely on income from registration fees, sign and sponsor fees, Tag day, and our concession stand. If you take our total expenditures needed to run this league for one season and divide it by the 600 participants, it averages about $235 dollars per child to participate for one season. This is why we need your help. A special thanks goes out to all the volunteers that have helped in the past. * Our registration fees are lower than most other Little Leagues in Delaware  Our Financial Status: Many may not be aware of the great expense involved running and maintaining a well-tuned Little League program.  Last year our expenditures exceeded $143,000. We believe we have the best Little League complex on Delmarva and maybe on the entire East Coast.  Our revenues depend entirely on our registration fees, sponsors, fund-raisers, donations, and our concession stand.  It is of the utmost importance that you as parents work in the concession stand when it is your teams turn to work. Please coordinate with your team moms. While Dover Little League Inc. is a nonprofit organization, we still have to pay for everything needed to run the League.  No officer, director, manager, coach, or umpire receives pay for his or her service.  It’s the volunteers that keep our League operating smoothly.   Please volunteer your time and energy to make our League better. Please get involved; we can really use your help.  But most of all, the boys and girls of our league need you.  You can contact any Board Member for information.  Thank You, Dover Little League, Inc.   Registration Dates:  Saturday February 1, 2014     from 10 am to 2 pmWednesday February 5, 2014     from 6 pm to 8 pmSaturday February 8, 2014     from 10 am to 2 pmWednesday February 12, 2014     from 6 pm to 8 pm We are ONLY offering SIX (4) walk-in registrations this year. THAT’S FINAL. ALL REGISTRATION’S CLOSE February 12, 2014. Avoid the long lines by registering early. A late fee of $50 dollars per player may be assessed for registrations after February 12, 2014.
