Jerome High School Swimming and Diving: Dive News

Coach Ryan has provided the following practice schedule during the holidays.  There is a swim and dive meet this Friday, December 18 against Hilliard Davidson and Westerville South at 5:30 p.m. at the DCRC.  Additional meets during the break are on December 26  at 3:00 p.m. against Scioto and Watterson, December 27 at 10:30 a.m. for the Dublin Winter Invitational, and January 2 at 4:00 p.m. for the Dublin Classic (all meets are at the DCRC).

An email will be circulated before each meet confirming participating divers.  If you have any questions about the training schedule or the meets, please contact Ryan directly.   

Christmas Break Training Schedule: 

12/21- 5:30am-7am- Varsity  6:30am-8am- JV

12/22-5:30am-7am- JV          6:30-8am- Varsity

12/23- 5:30am-6:30am- JV     6:30-8pm- Varsity or all divers in the Dublin Winter Invitational

12/24- 5:45-8am- All Divers in the Dublin Winter Invitational on Sunday or Meet on Saturday            NO Dry Land!! 

12/26- 8am-9am- All Divers in the Dublin Winter Invitational or meet on Saturday (Mandatory) 

12/28- 5:45am-8am- JV         Varsity and divers who competed in Dublin Winter Invitational have morning off! 

12/29- 5:45am- 7am- Varsity  6:30-8am- JV

12/30-5:45am- 7am JV           6:30-8am- Varsity

12/31- NO PRACTICE

Our first dive meet, held December 3, 2009 at the DCRC against Coffman, Thomas Worthington and Worthington Kilbourne was a great success for our Varsity Divers.  In a field of 24 divers, we took 1st and 2nd place in both the girls and the boys competition.  As this was a 6-dive dual meet, we were only able to compete 3 divers for each, with results as follows:  

Girls:

Hattie Lamping - 1st Place - Score of 236.5

Stephanie Sadler - 2nd Place - Score of 198.95

Shannon Thomas - 5th Place - Score of 152.05  

Boys:

Jacob Kasper - 1st Place - Score of 245.55

Grant Saale - 2nd Place - Score of 218.35

J.J. Rheinlander - 6th Place - Score of 117.6  

Honorable Mention to Chanelle Aepli who competed as a JV (exhibition) - Score of 206.65  

With a score above 190, this qualifies Hattie, Stephanie, Jacob and Grant (and possibly Chanelle, if meet officials allow her exhibition score to be counted) to compete on behalf of DJHS at the Viking Invitational to be held December 19, 2009 at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium at Cleveland State University.
