At today’s annual World Series meeting of the Little League International Board of Directors in Williamsport, Pa., the directors voted unanimously to institute a “pitch count” for all levels of baseball play in Little League.

Little League International would like to express its gratitude to the hundreds of leagues and districts that participated in the Pitch Count Pilot Program in 2005 and during the past season. Important Reminders for Local Little League Programs for 2006: TOURNAMENT

Dear Little League Volunteer:
Important Reminders for Local Little League Programs for 2006:
Little League International has adopted League Eligibility Guidelines for Tournament ( All Star ) teams. In order for a Little League program to be eligible to enter a team or teams into the International Tournament (including 9-10 Year Old Division and 10-11 Year Old Division) all of the following must be accomplished no later than June 2, 2006.
1) The league must be chartered in the division(s) for which they wish to enter a tournament team(s). (Example: Chartered in Little League Majors to enter a Major Division team (11-12 year old); chartered in Senior League to enter a Senior Division team, etc.): You can verify your current charter status by logging on to the Little League Data Center located on the Little League Website home page at www.littleleague.org
2) All required waivers submitted and approved prior to cutoff date of June 2, 2006 established in Regulation IV (j). (Examples: Regulation II (d), Regulation IV (h), player out of boundaries, etc.):
3) All regular season team rosters must be submitted to Little League International by June 2.2006 in accordance with requirements outlined in Regulation IV (g):
4) Fees incurred by the league must be paid in full by June 2, 2006. (This excludes current year tournament fees.) You can verify your current financial status by going to the Little League Website, clicking on District Admins and the Status Link will be at the top of the page. This will be available starting on April 18, 2006 and will be updated each morning.
Failure to meet any of the listed requirements could result in a team or teams being declared ineligible by the Tournament Committee at Little League International.
Local Little Leagues must elect to obtain accident and general liability insurance through Little League or provide proof of coverage by June 2, 2006.
The deadline to complete your tournament enrollment and background screening confirmation form is June 15, 2006. Leagues that elect to not participate in tournament must fill out this form to confirm that mandatory background screening was accomplished. Background screening which includes the submission of the official Little League Volunteer Application, must be conducted annually on all new and returning personnel as outlined in Little League Regulation I(c)(8&9). A new background search tool was recently made available by the U.S. Department of Justice which searches Sex Offender Registries nationwide, excluding Oregon and South Dakota, for no charge. The U.S. Attorney General expects those states to be added by the end of the year. All adjustments to your leagues Charter and Insurance application must be made by June 15, 2006.
We would request that district administrators verify that all leagues are in good standing prior to allowing teams to participate in the International Tournament.
