WHO ARE THE DELAWARE DUCKS
Founded in 1993, the Delaware Ducks are a non-profit youth ice hockey
organization, committed to helping our children develop the skills
necessary to play competitive travel ice hockey. We currently have
travel teams for USA Hockey levels Squirts through Midgets, birth years
1990 through 1999 (note: for Mite hockey, birth year 2000 and younger,
contact the Pond Penguins).
Delaware Ducks travel team play is for the experienced skater with
games being competitive and played to win. The Delaware Ducks are
members of the Delaware Valley Hockey League (DVHL), an organization
comprised of teams from Delaware, Southeastern Pennsylvania, and
Southern New Jersey, with most teams being within a two-hour drive from
the Newark area. The travel team season runs from September through
March. Most teams have two evening practices per week with games on the
weekends (usually one home and one away). Player evaluations are
scheduled in April and are open to returning and new players.

MISSION STATEMENT
To teach boys and girls the sport of ice hockey and help develop the
physical skills required to participate in the competitive environment
of the sport. The Delaware Ducks are a non-profit organization that has
been established for the development of young hockey players. The
Delaware Ducks Youth Hockey Organization expects each player to learn
discipline and respect for the game of hockey, their coaches,
teammates, parents, officials and opposing players. Our goal is to have
FUN, learn the game and represent the Delaware Ducks Youth Ice Hockey
with enthusiasm and class.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS
To enhance and boost hockey skills, the Delaware Ducks offer special
clinics throughout the year, including: Mark Cardillo's IST Power
Skating, Popa Goalie Clinics, and other conditioning and training
programs on and off the ice. In addition, Duck families and friends
participate in various social functions (Beef & Beer dinner,
Christmas Skating Party, Annual Banquet, Parent-Player games, etc.)
that are scheduled at various times during the season. Travel teams
also have the opportunity to compete in various tournaments throughout
the season.
