Under no circumstances will chewing tobacco of any form will be allowed in the rink of the team benches.

Drugs & Alcohol

Property Damage
Anyone who willfully causes damage to the playing area or any part of the Dek*Star Dekhockey Center will be suspended for a length of time proportionate to the damage and be required to make restitution before being allowed to play again, under the discretion of the rink manager.
Broken Tile Rule: Any player found guilty of slamming their stick on the dek surface and breaking any tiles will receive a 3 game suspension and pay $15.00 per broken tile. Anyone caught littering in or around the rink area will receive either a 2 game suspension or a $50.00 fine.

Touch Up Offsides
If the ball is shot into the offensive zone with players still in the offensive zone, the players have the opportunity to clear the zone and enter back into the offensive zone. All players must be cleared of the zone until a player can reenter the zone.

Blowing Plays dead
Reasons a play would be blown dead:

1. If the ball goes across the line before the offsides players clear the zone and goes on net.

2. If an offensive player intentionally touches the ball. The face-off goes to the defensive zone.

3 Second Crease Rule
Offensive players cannot stand in the crease for more than 3 seconds unless the ball is also in the crease. In the event of a crease violation the face-off comes to the defensive zone.

Tripping Penalty
Intentionally leaving your feet (sliding on your knees) and taking the opposing man's feet out, no matter if contact is made with the ball or not, is a 1 minute tripping penalty.

Checking
Any player who intentionally checks another player will receive either:

1. 1 minute minor + 5 minute misconduct

2. 2 1/2 minute major + a game misconduct

Elbow Pads
Elbow pads are required only if the elbow is exposed. If a long sleeve shirt or jersey is worn covering the elbow, pads are not required. Players 18 and under must wear elbow pads. Dek*Star highly recommends wearing elbow pads for your protection.

The referee has the authority to enforce this rule at any time during the game.

General Rules
Both teams supply 1 ball each. Home team supplies additional ball if necessary.

Penalties totaling up to 3 minutes excluding misconducts, is a game misconduct. Two game misconducts equals 1 game suspension.

Mini-Game
All games will be single elimination until the semi-finals and finals. If following game 2 of the semi-final series, the series is tied 1 game each there will be a 10 minute mini-game(immediately following game 2) to decide the champion.
If after the mini-game the game is tied, there will be a three man shoot out, all shooters must be different. If the score is still tied there will be a one man shootout. At this point the same person or different people can shoot until the game is decided.

ALL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES WILL BE BEST OF 3.

*1 30 second time out will be given to each team for the mini-game.

*If you were thrown out of game 2 for 3 penalties you will be permitted to play in the mini-game. Penalty limit for the mini-game is 2 penalties.

*Rosters-You must have played in game 2 to be eligible to play in the mini-game.

*Each team will be required to pay $5.00 additional ref fees before the start of the mini-game.

*There will be a 3 minute break between game 2 and the mini-game.

Icing & Face-Offs
ICING:
The defensive team has to have a reasonable chance of playing the ball before it goes across the yellow line. The crease is officially not in play with regards to icing so unless it goes in the net or the goalie plays it is still considered icing. It could glance off the side of the net or off the side post and go over the yellow line and still be icing. When that is ever question remember that a shot off the post is not considered a shot on goal.

FACE-OFFS:
If the offensive team has a delayed penalty but the stoppage is for something that would keep the face-off in the offensive end, the face-off would take place at one of the dots just outside the offensive zone end, or at the dots in their defensive end. Penalty on offensive team after the whistle blows for the goalie freezing the ball, face-off comes to outside high face-off dot. If penalties are coincidental face-off stays inside.

Dropping the Ball
We will not stop play every time a player picks the ball off before it hits the ground. If he gets it before it hits the ground play continues. If a player continually does it the speed of the drop will be adjusted.

Too Many Men
Too many men is when the player coming off is on the rink and the player coming on the rink are both on the rink and one intentionally plays the ball or intentionally effects play.(If either player has one foot in the bench we will give them the benefit of the doubt). A ball inadvertently hitting a player is NOT too many men.

Ball on Back of the Net
* Shot from offensive team whether or not it is deflected by the defensive team the ball goes outside the zone.

* During the course of play if it goes on the back of the net it is the last team who touched the ball that determines where the face-off goes.

* If a player tries to stop another player from trying to get the ball off the net before a three count, the positioning of the face-off goes against that players team.
