*** Announcement from Parks & Recreation Department ***

PLEASE HELP US OUT...

We continue to receive requests from Douglas County officials asking for help in observing

park's ordinances. Which includes parking ONLY in designated spaces. As you may have noticed, we are parking around the turn around areas (Both upper and lower field batting cages), in gravel surrounding lower field batting cages, and in the grass next to the parking lot on the upper fields.

They are in the process of having additional signs made for all of these park rules, but for now we need to pass information along as word-of-mouth.

Also, we would like to remind you that dogs are required to be on a leash and absolutely

NO SKATEBOARDS OR BICYCLES ALLOWED!

Pregame Batting Practice - BATTING CAGES

PLEASE NOTE

On game days, Batting Cages are for teams preparing to play games on a first come first served basis, with a spirit of working together so everyone may get some pregame hitting time. Once games start then cages will be open for others to practice.

Uniformed teams scheduled to play have priority over cages within 1 hour of their scheduled game. If no open cages, teams scheduled to play should yield cages to other scheduled teams after 30 minutes of use. Please work together.

Thank You In Advance For Your Cooperation & Consideration.

Welcome Message from DCYBL President
Boundary Waters Baseball Family:

On behalf of the DCYBL board, I want to welcome your family to another exciting season of baseball at Boundary Waters.  We are happy you chose to join us.  For returners, thank you for again trusting us to provide your child a great baseball experience.  For newcomers, welcome.  We hope to earn your respect and trust.  As we begin this new season, I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone what we are all about—the kids.  Please refrain from conduct that in any way creates the impression, in impressionable young minds, that this is anything other than a game.  We value following the rules, good sportsmanship, decorum, integrity and respect for the game.  We want to teach our kids about competition, but not at the expense of our core values.  Always cheer for the kids, not against the other team.  Promote a climate where we understand everyone involved is human—including the umpires.  Refrain from smoking, cussing, and other inappropriate conduct in the presence of our kids.  Coaches respect each other and the game, dress appropriate (see rules), and remember we lead by example.  Always support your players—and the players on the other team.  When things get hot, cool yourself down by remembering this is only a game.  Players, always respect the adults that volunteer their time, so you can play the game.  Remember there is always a young child that cannot play, but would give everything to be in your shoes.  Have fun, learn, and respect the game.

To view a copy of our rules, please visit site's forms & handouts section. Thank you and have a great season.

Ken Bernard
