Flame on the Move!
After finishing just one point away from second place and advancing to division 2 in the Fall of 2002, the Flame had a tough spring 2003 season. Plagued by injuries and other untimely events, the Flame played valiently (starting a trend of often beating or tying the league's toughest teams while outplaying yet losing to teams at the bottom of the division). The Fall 2003 season brought three new players and a team that really began to gel as the campaign wore on. Finishing in the middle of the pack, the Flame rampaged thru the post-season tournament with two guest players who later joined the team over the winter. Beginning the spring 2004 season with another divison-winning tournamanet perrfromance, the Flame has shown itself as the class of division 4, going seven games without a loss. The team has shown great skill, heart, and friendship in equal measures. They are fun to watch and a joy to be around. Watch out division 3. Go Flame!

Flame Finishes Third in Fall Season
The Flame finished third in the fall season in WAGS div. 3. With four new players and a new coach, the Flame faced their first season in WAGS division 3 having moved up from division 4 at the close of the spring 2002 season. Playing tough and smart all season long and getting contributions from all players, the Flame battled in and around first place all season. A tough 2-0 loss in the season finale left the Flame just one point out of second place with a final record of 5-2-2. The Flame scored 14 goals and gave up only 7. The two losses were to the first and second place teams. This was supposed to be a getting acquainted season--new players, new coach, new division--but someone forgot to mention that to the girls. Not even a several week hiatus caused by the surreal DC area sniper experience deterred the Flame from playing great soccer and having tons of fun. The proud parents salute the Flame and Coach Evans Malyi for a terrific and exciting season. We look forward to more of the same in 2003. Go Flame!
