Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele had a great night on the mound for the Cougars collecting the second shutout in two consective days over Rossview.  Rossview looked like they were in a situation a few times during the game to put something on the board, but between the Cougars defense and their pitching the Cougars blanked them.  Dickson bats made a statement in the first with a lead off hit from Bass, a hit from Petty with a RBI, Edwards walked but the Cougars were stopped at one.  In the second inning the Cougars had Newberry lead off with a hit, Oakley reached by a fielders choice but they could not score.  The third ining the Cougars bats got hot with a hit form Bass, an RBI hit from Petty, a hit from Keele, an RBI hit from Mansolino, a RBI hit from Edwards, Ford collected RBI on a groundout, Newberry collected a hit and Oakley reached on a fielders choice.  The end of the third had Cougars at 5 to 0.  The fourth inning the Cougars were three and out.  The fourth inning only Edwards reached by a hit.  The sixth inning Newberry lead off with a hit, Hargrove reached by a fielders choice, Stringer was  hit by a pitch.  The Cougars clinched the 10AAA District Regular season and the District 10AAA Disctrict Tournament Title.  Lauren Keele, Cat Petty, Kayla Edwards, Kyndall Newberry were named to the 10AAA All District Team.  Ashley Ford recieved Co-Best Defense award and Julianna Bass received best offensive award. While Carter Mansolino received honorable mention for the district. Dickson pitching delivered a 0 ERA for the District Tournament (Edwards against Springfield, and Keele against Clarksville, Rossview and Rossview)

Dickson 1 Rossview 0

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele collected the shutout with five strikeout and no walks.  Great defensive plays help secure the game. Way to put it out there COUGARS!    Dickson started the game with a hit from Bass, followed by a sac bunt by Petty, and a walk to Mansilino, but the Cougars were left stranded.  The second inning only Newberry would reach by a gapper.  The third inning Keele would reach with a hit.  The fourth inning the Cougars went three and out, and would do the same in the fifth inning.  The sixth inning, Cat petty lead off with a bomb (homerun) to right center that would eventually decide the game, Keele followed with a hit, Mansolino laid down the sac bunt to move Kelsey Bowman (running for Keele), Ashley Ford would walk (Erin Picard running) but the board would stand at one.  Great game Lady Cougars - Keep up the INTENSITY AND ENERGY!  

Dickson 2 Clarksville 0

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele had a perfect game with no Clarksville batters reaching base until the final inning when Clarksville managed to get two aboard.  Keele collected four strikeouts, no walks, while collecting the shutout.  Great Defense Lady Cougars!  Dickson had a hard time getting anything going in the game.  The first inning Keele reached by a hit, but we could not score.  The second inning Cougars went three and out. Third inning only Bass reached by being hit by a wild pitch.  In the Fourth inning Keele lead with a walk, Mansolino collected the hit, Edwards laid down a sac bunt but still no runs.  The fifth inning the Cougars managed to score with a bunt from McCallister and an RBI hit from Petty.  The sixth inning one more was added with a triple from Edwards and a RBI sac fly from Ford, Newberry also collected a hit.  Great game Lady Cougars!  Good Luck against Rossview in the winnner's bracket!

Dickson 8 Springfield 1

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Kayla only allowed four hits, while striking out twelve.  Great game on the mound for Edwards.  Dickson got off with a run in the first with a bunt from Bass, a sac bunt from Petty, a hit from Keele and an RBI hit from Mansolino.  The second inning the Cougars led off with a walk to Ford, a sac bunt from Newberry, a hit from Oakley but could not score.  The third inning Dickson went three and out.  The fourth inning Ford reached by error and Newberry on a fielders choice but still no more runs.  The fifth inning the Lady Cougars felt the urgency of the situation with Bass reaching by bunt, Petty collected a hit, Keele collected a RBI hit, Mansolino issued a walk, and Ford with a three RBI hit.  The Cougars last at bat for the game had a hit from Oakley, a bunt from Bass, a hit from Petty, an RBI form Keele, and an RBI from Mansolino to wrap up the game and secure the win for advancement in the district tournament.

Dickson (11) vs Henry County (0)

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele collected the shutout, while striking out six, allowing only four hits and no walks.  Henry county opened the game with one of their only hits, but could not get any runs across the plate, with a flyout to Keele,  and ground outs to Newberry and Edwards.  The bottom of the first the Cougars unleashed with Bass reaching first from a hit, Keele collected a hit, Mansolino collected a 2 RBI hit, Edwards was hit by a pitch, Ford collected the RBI hit, Newberry followed up with a RBI hit, Hargrove reached by walk.  The Lady Cougars put Five runs on the board.  The second inning Henry County grounded out to Keele, collected a hit to center, and was keep from scoring with two strikeouts.  Bottom of the second inning the Cougars only had Keele to reach on a hit.  Top of the third Henry County went three and out with two flyouts and a strikeout. The bottom of the third inning Ford reached by a hit, Oakley got a RBI hit for their sixth run of the game.  Top of the fourth was Henry County's chance to get on the board, they lead off by reaching by an error, a ground ball to Bass to get the lead runner at second, and two back to back hits before being issued  back to back strikeouts.  The bottom of the fourth was another scoring freenzy for the Cougars, Bass reached by a walk, Petty collected the RBI hit, Keele reached by a walk, Mansolino reached by error, Edwards collected the RBI on a walk, Oakley collected 2 RBIs on a error. The top of the fifth would prove to be all for the night. with a strikeout and two ground outs to Bass to complete the game.  GREAT JOB LADIES!!!

Dickson (11) vs Northwest (0)

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and senior Kyndall Newberry behind the plate.  Kayla collected the shutout striking out six and allowing only two hits.  Dicksons Cat Petty reached by error, Lauren Keele got a hit but they could not score. The second inning Oakley reached by walk but could not score. The third inning Cat Petty got a hit, Lauren Keele got a hit, Carter Mansolino got a RBI hit, Kayla Edwards got a RBI hit, Ashley Ford got a RBI sac fly to wrap up the first three runs of the game.  The fourth inning Oakley lead off with a single, Julianna reached by a perfectly laid bunt, Cat Petty got a two RBI hit, Mansolino got the RBI from an error, Kayla Edwards got a RBI hit, Kyndall Newberry got a RBI hit, Oakley got RBI hit, McCallister got RBI hit, Julianna Bass reached by walk when the dust cleared the Cougars had scored 11 unanswered runs!  Great game ladies. Everyone enjoyed celebrating with Kyndall and her family tonight.  Kyndall is a wonderful young lady, and we will miss her greatly!  GOOD LUCK AT AUBURN - WE LOVE YOU!

Dickson (5)  vs Northeast (4)

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele collected 7 strikeouts, and issued two walks in seven innings.  The first inning NE went three and out with a groundout to Bass and a Flyout to Petty and a strikeout.   The bottom of the first inning Cougars got off to a hot start with Bass leading off with a hit, Petty collected the RBI by reaching by error, Mansolino collected the RBI hit, Edwards would wrap the inning up with a RBI hit.  The second inning NE leadoff with a hit, an error, but the Cougars got out of the jam with a ground out to Keele and two strikeouts.  The bottom of the second the Cougars could not get anything going. The third inning NE went three and out with a ground out to Edwards, a strikeout, and a groundout to Keele.  Dickson could not score again despite a hit from Mansolino.  Fourth inning NE reached by an error, Keele issued a walk and NE collected there second hit of the game to score, the outs came after two runs would score, outs were two ground outs to Keele and a ground out to Newberry.  Fourth inning no score from Cougars, depsite a walk being issued to Newberry. Fifth inning Cougars issued a strikeout, committed an error, and ended the inning with a flyball to Keele and one to McCallister.  The bottom of the fifth Cougars would strike again, with Petty reaching by a hit, Keele collecting an RBI hit, Mansolino collecting an RBI hit, and Edwards also collected a hit.  The sixth inning NE went down with a flyball to Mansolino, a walk, a fly out to Mansolino and strikeout.  The bottom of sixth Cougars could not strike again despite a hit from Bass.  The seventh inning Cougars allowed NE to score again on a strikeout, two hits and a fielders choice and a putout by Ford to end the game.  GREAT GAME LADY COUGARS!

Let me start by saying how grateful the Dickson County Cougars and Team KISS are for Rossview joining us for this very special night on the hill at Dickson County High School. We appreciate all the kindness and wonderful gestures for Kayla and now for helping Team KISS to raise awareness of Cancer.  We could not think of doing this with any other team. ROSSVIEW YOU ARE A CLASS ACT!

Kayla's jersey was retired last night and is on display at the concession stand at the Lady Cougar Home Field. 

It was a great game, as always when you put Dickson and Rossview in the same diamond.  Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate. Keele collected seven strikeouts, issued on walk and gave up five hits in the seven innings. It was a scary first inning, two Hawks reached by error, followed by a walk that loaded the bases. We battled back for three strike outs. Then in the bottom of the first inning Cougars got busy with a leadoff bunt from Bass, a hit from Keele followed by a 2 RBI hit from Edwards. The second inning Dickson defense got Rossview three up and three down. Despite hits from Neberry and Stringer in the second Cougars could not strike again.  Third inning Cougars let the Hawks reach by an error then got three outs before the Hawks could score. Bottom of the third Cougars were three and out. Top of the fourth Cougars let Hawks reach by an error and then shut them down again with three straight outs. Bottom of the fourth Ford reaches safely, but Cougars could not push Picard (running for Ford) across the plate.  Top of the fifth the Hawks would strike with a lead off triple and before the inning would close the Hawks would have posted their first run of the game. The bottom of the fifth Dickson lead off with Bass reaching by a walk, Petty got a hit, Keele recorded the 2 RBI hit. Sixth inning with one out, a Lady Hawk reached by error followed by a pair of strikeouts, and a hit that pushed Rossviews second run of the game across the plate. The sixth inning Dickson went three and out. Top of the seventh Hawks lead off with a hit, followed by a ground out, a hit, a flyout and a run scoring. Edwards with 2 RBIS, and Keele with 2 RBIS.

GREAT GAME PLAYED BY BOTH TEAMS.  

Dickson (7) Northeast (1)

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Lauren collected six strikeouts, walked two, allowed three hits and no runs in five innings of work.  Edwards came in relief in top of the sixth, she struck out one, issued one walk, gave up one hit and one run.  Ford finished the game by throwing out the lead runner at third on a steal.  Dickson had hits from Edwards in the first inning, she managed to get herself around the bases for the first Cougar run. Second innnig Cougar bats were silenced with only Newberry reaching by walk. The third inning McCallister lead off with a hit, Bass laid down the sac bunt, Edwards collected the RBI hit. Fourth inning was three and out on offense. Fifth inning Wison lead off with a hit, McCallister laid down the sac bunt, Bass reached by error, Edwards got a hit, Mansolino collected the 2 RBI hit (Hudson was the runner for Mansolino), Ford followed with a RBI hit.  Sixth inning McCallister got a hit, and Bass collected the RBI hit.  The seventh inning Keele lead off with a hit, Mansolino got the RBI hit to finish the Cougar scoring.

 

Dickson (6) Clarksville NW (3)

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate to start the game. Edwards collected 7 strikeouts, while allowing only four hits and three runs. Keele came in relief in the top of the fifth allowing one hit, striking out 6 and allowing no runs. Edwards nor Keele allowed any walks. Dickson bats got off to a fast start.  Bass reached by a walk, Keele got the RBI hit, followed by a hit from Mansolino, and a 2 RBI hit from Stringer to put the Cougars up by 3 in the top of the first inning. Cougars could not cross the plate in the 2nd and 3rd despite hits from Bass, Edwards, and Mansolino.  The fourth inning Cougars would strike again with a lead off hit from Wilson, a hit from McCallister, Bass was hit by a pitch, and Keele recorded the RBI sac fly.  The fifth inning Cougars collected a hit from Newberry but could not score a run. The 6th inning McCallister lead off with a hit, followed by Bass reaching on a bunt, Edwards sac bunted and Keele recorded the RBI hit, Kacie Clark (in for injured Mansolino) followed with a RBI hit to finish the Cougar scoring. 

Dickson (7) vs Baylor (2)

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate. Edwards collected three strikeouts and no walks in three innings allowing four hits.  Lauren Keele was brought in for the fourth collecting four strikeouts, one walk and allowing four hits in four innings.  Dickson had hits from Julianna Bass (2), Kayla Edwards (2), Lauren Keele (3 including a HOMERUN), Carter Mansolino (2 including a HOMERUN), Ashley Ford (1), Kyndall Newberry (1), Ashley McCallister (1) and Holly Hudson (1). This was for the Championship in the Silver Bracket.  Dickson had three players named to the All Tournament Team. Lauren Keele, Julianna Bass and Kayla Edwards. RBIS from Edwards (1), Keele (3), Mansolino (1), Ford (1) and Kacie Clark (1).

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Carter Mansolino behind the plate.  Edwards collected three strikeouts, issued no walks and allowed only four hits.  Keele came in to finish the final inning with one out to get a fly out and and ground out to finish the game.  Dickson had hits from Julianna Bass (2), Carter Mansolino (HOMERUN), Kyndall Newberry (1) and Alley Hargrove (1). RBI from solo homerun from Mansolino.

Dickson (2) vs Bob Jones (0)

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Lauren collected three strikeouts issued one walk and allowed only one hit.  Dickson had hits from Julianna Bass (1), Kayla Edwards (1), Kacie Clark (1), Kara Wilson (1) and Ashley McCallister (1). RBI's from Edwards (1) and Keele (1).

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Edwards collected five strikeouts and issued no walks.  Dickson had hits from Julianna Bass (2), Carrter Mansolino (3), and Ashley McCallister (1).  RBI's from Mansolino (1) and Ford (1).

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate. Dickson (12) vs Clarksville (1)

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele struckout five, issued one walk and only allowed two hits.  Edwards came in to pitch the last inning and hit not allow any hits.  Dickson had hits from Cat Petty (1), Lauren Keele (3), Carter Mansolino (2 including a HOMERUN), Ashley Ford (2), Kyndall Newberry (2), and Kayla Edwards (3). RBI's from Petty (1), Keele (1), Mansolino (2), Ford (2), Newberry (2), Edwards (2).

 Dickson (4) vs Riverdale (6)

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Edwards allowed one run during her three innings.  Dickson had the game won but errors allowed Riverdale to tie and force the extra innings and they capitalized on the Cougar errors giving them extra chances to score.  Keele finished the game.  Dickson hopefully got alot from this one realizing you cant count your opponent out.  Dickson got hits from Cat Petty (3), Lauren Keele (1),  Carter Mansolino (1), Kyndall Newberry (1), Ashley Ford (1), Kayla Edwards (2),  and Lauren Stringer (1). RBI's Newberry (1), Ford (1), Stringer (1) Kelsey Bowman stole home for the other Cougar run. 

 

Dickson (11) vs Springfield (0)

Dickson sent Kara Wilson to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Wilson collected 3 strikeouts, no walks and allowed no hits.  Kayla Edwards came in to close the game in the fourth. She collected one strikeout and allowed no hits.  Dickson Beta Members left to attend the BETA convention event.  Dickson managed to score 11 with mostly JV players.  Great job girls.  Dickson got hits from Kayla Edwards (1), Erin Picard (1), Carter Mansolino (3 including a HOMERUN), Kacie Clark (1), Alley Hargrove (1), Kelsey Bowman (3), Kara Wilson (1), and Holly Hudson with (1).  RBI's from Erin Picard (1), Mansolino (3), Clark (1), Hargrove (1), McCallister (2), Bowman (1), Wilson (2) and Hudson (1)

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele collected six strikeouts in the game, issued one walk and allowed only one hit.  Dickson had hits from Julianna Bass (1), Cat Petty (2), Lauren Keele (1), Carter Mansolino (2), Lauren Stringer (2), Ashley Ford (2), Kayla Edwards (3), Ashley McCallister (1) and Kelsey Bowman (3).  RBI's from Bass (2), Petty (4), Keele (1), Mansolino (4), Stringer (1), Ford (1),  Edwards (1), McCallister (1) and Bowman (3).

 

Dickson (1) vs Creekwood (2)

In the never before match up Dickson and Creekwood put on a game that brought out the masses.  Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele collected five strikeouts, issued one walk and only allowed three hits.  Dickson had hits from Julianna Bass, Cat Petty(2), Ashley Ford (2) and Carter Mansolino. RBI's Mansolino (1).

 Dickson (2) vs Camden (8)

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Edwards did not issue any walks and struck out one.  She only allowed three run before being replaced in the third by Kara Wilson.  Camden bats were hot. Dickson had hits from Julianna Bass, Cat Petty, and Ashley McCallister. RBIS from Petty (1), McCallister (1). 

Dickson (3) vs Houston (2) 

 Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate. Keele collected seven strikouts, one walk and two hits.  Dickson had hits from Julianna Bass (1), Kyndall Newberry (1), Alley Hargrove (1). RBIS from Bass (1), Keele (1), Ford (1). 

Dickson 2 Harpeth 0

This was another opprtunity for the younger Cougars to get some experience.  Dickson sent Kara Wilson to the mound and Carter Mansolino behind the plate.  Wilson collected 5 strikeouts, allowed on walk and only gave up one hit.  Dickson got hits from Megan Oakley (2),  and Lauren Stringer. RBIS to Mansolino (2).

Dickson (2) vs Ezell Harding (1)

Kayla Edwards to the mound with Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Edwards collected 5 strikouts.  Only allowed four hits with one run, while issuing no walks. Dickson took an early lead with a walk to Julianna Bass,  RBI hit from Cat Petty, a hit from Lauren Stringer, a walk to Kyndall Newberry and and RBI hit from Edwards. Bass would collect the only other hit after the first inning. RBIS Petty (1) and Edwards (1).

 Dickson 8 vs Kenwood 0

Dickson won 8-0.  Dickson send Kara Wilson to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Wilson collected nine strikeouts.  After Dickson got the early lead with 6 in the first it was a great opportunity for both teams to get some of their younger players in. Hits from Bass (2), Ashley McCallister (1), Cat Petty (2), Lauren Keele (1), Kyndall Newberry (1), Carter Mansolino (2), Ashley Ford (1).  RBIS from Bass (2),  Newerry (1), Edwards (1), Mansolino (1) and Ford (2). The other run came from Petty stealing home.

 

Dickson 1 vs Kenwood 2 

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate and to a pitching duel with Kenwood.  The seventh inning was the first runs to cross.  Kayla Edwards got a single, followed by a walk from Carter Mansolino and and RBI hit from Ashley Ford to put Dickson on the board.  Keele allowed only one hit for thr first six innings in the seventh despite to strike outs Dickson could not keep Kenwood striking back afte some Dickson errors.  Keele had 10 strikeouts, no walks and one hit.  Dickson had hits from Keele, Kayla Edwards, and Ashley Ford. Kenwood won 2-1. RBIS came from Ford (1).

 

 Dickson vs Rossview

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  The game remained close until the final inning when Rossview's bats went wild to insist on a marginal win.  Dickson only had four hits one from Julianna Bass, two from Cat Petty and one from Lauren Keele.  Edwards collected two strikeouts and did not walk anyone.

 

For a Rare Match-Up Dickson plays travels to Ravenwood

 

Dickson sent Kara Wilson to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Striking out two, issued on walk, allowing six hits and one run.  Dickson could not muster up a run despite a hit from Lauren Stringer in the 3rd, hits from Catherine Petty and Kayla Edwards in the fourth and a hit in the sixth from Lauren Keele. With a result of a 1 to nothing loss.

 

Dickson Defeats Columbia Central 9-5

Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Keele collect three strikouts, issued two walks, allowed 7 hits and allowing 4 runs.  Keele was briefly relieved by Kayla Edwards to change things up for the Hot Columbia bats in the 5th inning. Edwards allowed thre hits, a misplayed ball to the infield and a run. Dickson struck early with a lead off single from Julianna Bass, a sac bunt from Cat Petty, Lauren Keele reached by error collecting the RBI.  The second inning although Ashley Ford, Lauren Stringer (RBE), Kyndall Newberry and Alley Hargrove all made contact no runs.  Cat Petty collected her first 2009 homerun in the third collecting the RBI. Fourth inning saw hits from Ford, Striger, Newberry but the Lady Courgars would not get a run. The fifth inning Keele was issued a walk, Edwards got a hit, Carter Mansolino collected the RBI from a sac fly. The final inning Stringer lead with a walk, Newberry reached by an error, Alley Hargrove collected a RBI hit, Bass reached on a bunt, Petty reached by error - collecting an RBI, Keele collected 2 RBI's with a hit, Kelsey Bowman came in for Edwards getting on by a FC, Mansolino got a hit, Stringer collected a hit, Newberry got a RBI to wrap up the game. 

Dickson on top of Father Ryan 1-0

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Edwards collected a career high 10 strikeouts against the Irish, while collecting another shutout for the season.  Issuing no walks, and a sole hit in the fourth inning.  Irish pitching keep the Cougar bats off as well. Despite hits from Cat Petty and Lauren Keele in the first inning the Cougars could not get a run across the plate.  The second inning Cougars went three up three down.  The third inning Kyndall Newberry leadoff with a hit, Bass with a sac bunt to move Newberry, Cat Petty reached on a infield error, Keele picked up the RBI hit, Edwards followed with a walk but the one run was all the Cougars get done. Even with a saprk in the fifth with Lauren Stringer reaching by an error and Newberry picking up another hit for the Cougars.  Defensive highlights had to be Edwards on the mound and the solid defense that secured the defeat for Edwards. (Petty .500, Keele 1000 with RBI, Newberry 1000)

Dickson takes on Hendersonville for a win at 4-3.

Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Edwards collected four strikeouts, issued one walk and allowed five hits for extra inning win. Dickson struck in the first inning with Julianna Bass getting awarded to first after being hit.  Lauren Keele got a hit, followed by an RBI hit from Edwards to get the Cougars on the board. The top of the third Bass lead off with a hit, followed by a sac bunt from Cat Petty and and RBI hit from Keele.  In the fourth inning both Lauren Stringer and Kyndall Newberry got hits but the Cougars could not push a run across.  In the fifth inning Cat Petty lead off with a hit, Keele laid down the sac to move Petty, Ford was hit by a pitch and awarded first, Carter Mansolino got the RBI hit. Dickson moves into International Tie Breaker putting flex player Ashley McCallister on 2nd.  Kyndall Newberry worked through a deep count to collect the RBI hit for the unmatched extra inning run. Defensive highlight was a relay from Keele to Ford behind the plate that found Ford on the ground and the umpire yelling "Show Me The Ball" Ford had secured the ball with the tag and forced the extra inning of play. (Bass .333, Petty .333, Keele 1000 with RBI, Edwards .333 with RBI, Masnolino .333 with RBI, Lauren Stringer .333, Newberry 666 with RBI,) 

Cougars beat Henry County 11-5 

Dickson sent Kara Wilson to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Kara collected 5 strikeouts, allowed three walks, five hits and four runs.  Dickson then relieved Wilson with Lauren Keele who collected two strikeouts, while allowing one hit and one run in 2 and 2/3 innings to close the game.  Cougars got busy right off on offense. The first inning Julianna Bass lead off with a walk, Cat Petty laid down a sac bunt, Lauren Keele collected an RBI hit for the run in the first inning. Cougars struck again in the second with a lead off walk by Ashley Ford (with Kelsey Bowman as her runner) then was Sac Bunted to second by Lauren Stringer, Kyndall Newberry followed with a walk, and Alley Hargrove knocked in a run with a hit.  The third inning started with a walk to Keele, a hit from Kayla Edwards, and RBI hit from Ford, and an RBI from Stringer. Despite a hit from Newberry we could not get another run in the fifth and sixth innings. The seventh inning and down by one the Cougars attacked at the plate.  With a leadoff hit from Keele, a sac bunt from Edwards, Mansolino reached safely, an RBI hit from Ford, a hit from Stringer, followed by an RBI hit from Newberry, a hit from Ashley McCallister, an RBI hit from Bass, a 3 RBI hit from Petty, an RBI hit from Keele to wrap up and seal the win. (Bass .500 with RBI, Petty .250 with 3 RBIs, Keele 1000 with 2 RBIs, Edwards .250, Ford.667 with 2 RBIs, Stringer .500 with 1 RBI, Newberry .667 with 1 RBI, Hargrove 1000 with RBI.) 

 

Dickson 2 Clarksville 0

Lady Cougars take on Clarksville wildcats in the district opener.  Dickson defeats Clarksville  2 - 0.  Kayla Edwards collects the shut out with Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Edwards collected 4 strikeouts,only gave up four hits and one walk. Ford had two put outs at first on steal attempts to second. Kyndall Newberry had an unassited double play. Dickson struck first in the top of the first inning with a hit from Cat Petty and an RBI double from Lauren Keele. Kyndall Newberry, Cat Petty, Julianna Bass,and Lauren Keele all scattered more hits but could not push a run across.  The final inning the Cougars got a lead-off double from Ashley Ford and an RBI hit from Lauren Stringer followed by a hit from Alley Hargrove to finish the game. (Bass .250, Petty .667, Keele .667 with RBI, Ford .333, Strigner .333 with RBI, Newberry .333, Hargrove .500)

 

Lady Cougars vs East Limestone:

Cougars take the win 4 to 1.  Kayla Edwards took the mound with Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Kayla gave up no hits the sole run came from a walk and a fielders choice in the bottom of the last inning. Dickson got an early jump at the top of the first with a lead off bunt from Julianna Bass, followed by a hit collecting an RBI from Lauren Keele, followed by an RBI hit from Carter Mansolino. Dickson only allowed three base runners the entire game all three reached by walks or hit batter.  Edwards gave up NO HITS.  Dickson collected two more runs to seal the game with Bass being awarded first base on a HBP, Cat Petty moving Bass over with a bunt attempt, Keele collecting a hit up the middle, Edwards collecting a walk and Mansolino getting a two RBI hit.  Kyndall Newberry started a rally in the top of the fourth with a hit to right as game time was called. RBIS from Keele (1) and Masolino (3). Games at batting 1000 = Bass, Keele and Mansolino.

Game 2 versus John Carroll

Dickson takes this game 4 - 0.  Dickson sent Lauren Keele to the mound and Kyndall Newberry behind the plate. Keele collected the win and shutout, collecting 7 strike outs, allowing two hits and issuing one walk.  Dickson collected all four of their runs in the top of the first inning.  They got the four runs from a lead-off bunt single from Bass, Cat Petty reached by an error from a bunt,  Lauren Keele reached from an error to left, a hit from Kayla Edwards, Carter Mansolino reached by error, Lauren Stringer also reached by error.  The lead allowed Dickson the opportunity to get some of the younger players in to get some experience.  All the eligible Cougars had the oppurtunity to have appearances in this win.  RBIS from Petty, Edwards and Stringer (2).

Game 3: Dickson vs Travis Texas

Cougars win 7 to 4. Dickson sent Kara Wilson to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate. Wilson collected the win collecting seven strikeouts,issuing two walks and giving up four hits and four runs.  Despite hits fom Cat Petty and Lauren Keele in the first inning the Cougars feel short of scoring any runs. It was not until the third inning that the Cougar bats went on a rampage exploding for seven runs.  The inning started with Bass reaching on a bunt, Cat Petty hit a double followed by Keele, Mansolino, Ford, Stringer, Newberry, Alley Hargrove, Bass, Petty, Keele all reaching safely and resulted in the seven runs. RBIS from Petty (2), Keele (1), Mansolino (1), Ford (1), Stringer (1). Games with 1000 Petty 

Dickson versus Hueytown

Dickson beats Hueyown 5-0.  Dickson sent Kayla Edwards to the mound and Ashley Ford behind the plate.  Kayla collected the shut out, serving up four strike outs, and giving up only three hits.  Cougars got the first rally going in the second inning with a lead off hit from Kayla Edwards, followed by a hit from Carter Mansolino, Ashley Ford reached by a bunt, Lauren Stringer collected an RBI hit, Kyndall Newberry collected an RBI on a fielders choice to wrap up the inning and four unanswered runs. In the third inning we lead off a great at bat from Mansolino resulting in a walk, Ford with a fielders choice, and hits from Kyndall Newbery and an RBI hit from Alley Hargrove. Dickson threatened again in the final inning with a lead off hit from Keele and  despite good contact from Edwards, Mansolino and Ford we could not get another run across the plate.  GREAT DEFENSE PLAYS FROM CAT PETTY, LAUREN KEELE AND KYNDALL NEWBERRY!!!!!!!!  ACCOMPANIED BY SOLID DEFENSE FROM THE REMAINDER OF THE COUGARS!!! RBIS from Bass, Keele, Stringer, Newberry, Hargrove. 

Dickson loses to Springville 3 - 0

Dickson sent Kara Wilson to the mound a Kyndall Newerry behind the plate.  The first inning both sides went three up nd three down.  The second inning went scoreless for both teams as well.  Wilson collected 6 strikeouts, allowing 7 hits, one walk and three runs.  Dickson only got one hit and it was from Alley Hargrove.  Solid defense by the Lady Cougars, just could not get their bats going!  (Hargrove .500)

Dickson vs Opeluka

Dickson had a great start with the bats.  They send Keele to the mound and Ford behind the plate.  Keele collected 7 strikeouts, allowed 5 hits, one walk and three runs before falling to Opeluka 3-2.  Dickson got hits from Kayla Edwards (3), Julianna Bass, and Cat Petty with 2. RBI from Petty and RBI from Edwards.

Kyndall Newberry #12

(A four year starter)  Kyndall is a catcher that has played second, first, third for the Cougars.  Kyndall is an exceptional student with a 4.0 GPA that is a great senior leader for the Cougars both on and off the field.  Kyndall also represents the Lady Cougars on the volleyball court and has had much success there as well.  Kyndall is a BETA member and is involved in Interact.  Kyndall shows her school spirit by participating in Homecoming activities and helped to organize the 2008 Tailgating Crew. 2008 and 2009 All-Academic Team.   

"Six Juniors"

Julianna Bass #5

(A three year starter) Julianna has spent her time at second. She has exceptional speed.  Julianna was in the homecoming court both her freshman and sophomore years.  Julianna is an exceptional student on the honor roll, in honors and AP classes with a 4.0 GPA.  She is a BETA member a member of the Youth Leadership Program and is in FCA and Interact Clubs.  Julianna shows her school spirit by participating in Homecoming activities and Tailgating! 2009 All-Academic Team. 

Lauren Keele #18

(A three year starter)  Lauren has spent her time on shortstop and third.  She is also a pitcher that will spend some of her time on the mound this year.  Lauren is an exceptional student on the honor roll, in honors classes and AP classes with a 4.0 GPA.  She is a BETA member. She is also a member of HOSA, Interact, FCA, Cougars against Tobacco and GAME Commission.  Lauren wishes to continue her softball career at the collegiate level. Lauren is also a member of the Thunderbolts where she pitches, plays shortstop and third.  Lauren shows her school spirit by participating in Homecoming activities and Tailgating.  2009 All-Academic Team.

Kayla Edwards #33

(A three year starter)  Kayla has spent her time on third, in the outfiled, second and on the mound.  Kayla will find herself on the mound alot more frequently this year for the Lady Cougars.  Kayla is an exceptional student on the honor roll wth a 4.0 GPA.  She is a BETA member.  She is also a member of HOSA and FCA.  Kayla wishes to continue her softball career at the collegiate level.  Kayla is also a member of the Thunderbolts where she pitches and plays second. Kayla shows her school spirit by participating in Homecoming activities.  2009 All-Academic Team.

Ashley Ford #8

(A three year starter)  Ashley has spend her time as a DH, catching and at first.  Ashley is a solid student. She was on the homecoming court this year as a junior.  Ashley is in the following clubs: DECA, HOSA and FCA.  Ashley wishes to continue her softball career at the collegiate level. Ashley will also be a member of the Nighthawks this summer where she will catch.  Ashley shows her school spirit by participating in Homecoming activities and tailgating.

Catherine Petty #32

(A three year starter)  Catherine has spent her time as a runner and in the outfield.  Cat has exceptional speed.  Catherine is on the honor roll in honors and AP classes with a 4.0 GPA.  Catherine will find herself in Centerfield again this year.  She is a BETA member. Catherine is also in FCA and Game Commission.  Cat shows her school spirit by participating in Homecoming activities and tailgating.  2009 All-Academic Team. 

 Lauren Stringer #10

(A three year starter)  Lauren has spent her time as a DH and in the left field and rightfield.  Lauren will hold down an outfield position for the Cougars this year.  Lauren is a good solid student.  Lauren also holds down a job and has been doing so for the past year and a half.  She is in the following clubs: FCA, and Interact.  Lauren shows her school spirit by participating in Homecoming events. 

"Eight Sophomores"

Carter Mansolino #11

(A two year starter) Carter has spent her time as a DH at third and in the outfield.  Carter also has alot of cathcing experience.  Carter is an exceptional student that carries a 4.0 GPA.  Carter also represents the Lady Cougars on the volleyball court.  Carter is a member of the student council, and is also in HOCA, FCA, Cougars against tobacco and the French Club.  Carter wishes to continue her softball career at the collegiate level.  Carter is a member of the Tennessee Thunderbolts where she catches, plays third and can cover some ground in the outfield.  Carter shows her school spirit participating in homecoming activities and tailgating.  Carter recently won the homerun derby at a Trevecca Clinic. 

 Alley Hargrove #9

Alley is a varsity starter that plays both left and right fields. Alley is a very strong student.  Alley played both second base and pitched for the JV squad last year as a freshman, and will still have the opportunity to pitch for the JV squad for the experience so she is able to step into the pitching roll when the time comes.  Alley is also on the Cougar golf team.  Alley would like to continue her softball career at the collegiate level.

 

Ashley McCallister #13

Ashley is in her second year as a varsity starter.  She plays both right and left fields.  (Started on JV as a freshman)  Ashley played centerfield for the JV squad last year and was brought up to Varsity during the season so the team could capitalize on her speed.  Ashley shows her school spirit by participating in homecoming and is a member of the tailgating crew. 

 Kara Wilson #15

Kara will spend some time on the mound this year for the varsity squad.(Started on JV as a freshman)  Kara pitched and played first for the JV squad last year.  Kara is also a member of the 92 Crusaders where she pitches and plays outfield. Kara would like to continue her softball career at the collegiate level.

Kacie Clark #21

(Started on JV as a freshman)  Kacie pitched and played first for the JV squad last year. Kacie is a strong student that carries a 3.5 GPA.  Kacie is in HOSA and FCA.  Kacie is also a member of the Cougar Volleyball team and a member of the Cougar golf team.  Kacie shows her school spirit by participating in homecoming activities and tailgating.  Kacie is also a member of the Dust Devils where she pitches and plays first.

 

Kelsey Bowman #23 

Kelsey will be used as a runner on the varsity squad this year due to her speed and aggression.  (Kelsey started on JV as a freshman)  Kelsey played third for the JV squad last year.

 

Holly Hudson #7

(Holly started on JV as a freshman)  Holly played leftfield for the JV squad last year.  Holly is a member of the Dust Devils where she plays outfield.

 

Megan Oakley #24

  A sophomore transfer that should contribute to the JV squad this year.

Hannah Gentry #14

(A new incoming freshman)  Hannah played second and outfield for Dickson Middle School.  Hannah also plays soccer for the Cougars.  Hannah shows her school spirit by participating in homecoming events and is a tailgater.

 

Erin Picard #28

(A new incoming freshman)  Erin played shortstop for Dickson Middle School.  Erin will play for the JV squad this year.

Averi Jones  #20

(A new incoming freshman)  Avery played third for Dickson Middle School.  Averi is also a member of the Cougar basketball team.  Averi will play for the JV team this year.

Alex Bullington #34 

(A new incoming freshman) Alex played first for Dickson Middle School.  Alex will play for the JV team this year.
