DCHS Huskies Silver Win 3rd in State 2006
DCHS Huskies Silver won third place in the Varsity 4A division. They went into playoffs with a 11-2-1 season and in 2nd place in the southern conference. At the end of the conference playoffs they were still 2nd. The first playoff game was against Ponderosa and DCHS won 5-4. The second game was against Mountain Vista, the first place leader in the southern conference all season. It was a close game, but Mountain Vista won 4-2. DCHS then played Fort Collins (2nd in the northern conference) for third place in state and handily won that game 10-3. It is interesting to note that there were 23 school teams in the Varsity 4A division, nearly evenly split north and south. Of those 23 teams, 8 were their school's 2nd varsity team. Of the 8 teams in the playoffs (north & south combined) DCHS was the only school whose 2nd varsity team made the playoffs. All other teams that Huskies Silver competed against in the playoffs were their school's top team! Way to go HUSKIES!!
