Delray Beach Competitive Soccer: Affiliate Player Program

Background:The purpose of the Affiliate Player Program is to provide a means for a player to train within the Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Program but not be placed on a permanent team roster. A player may choose to train with a team as an Affiliate Player for a number of reasons: lack of roster space on a particular team; the club coaching staff may feel a player may need more time to develop; the player is not sure he/she is ready to join the club on a permanent basis; or the player intends to guest-play with a team. The long-term objective of the Affiliate Player Program is to develop the soccer playing ability of players so they will eventually become members of Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Program. In all cases it will be at the sole discretion of the club Director of Coaching and Player Development and the club coaching staff as to whether a player will be offered affiliate player status.
Training Sessions and Fees:Players will be afforded 2 weeks of training with the club prior to being expected to pay the Affiliate Training fee. The Affiliate Training fee will be $100 per month, due on the first of each month. The first month’s fee may be prorated, but after the first month, the fee will be due in full and is non-refundable, regardless of the number of training sessions the Affiliate Player attends in a month. The club coaching staff will determine the number of weekly training sessions the Affiliate Player can attend, which can vary on an individual basis. In the event the club coaching staff feels the Affiliate Player’s conduct is inappropriate or poses a distraction to the training sessions, the club reserves the right prohibit any Affiliate Player from further training. In such cases, the Affiliate Player will receive a prorated refund of that month’s fee.
Registration Requirements:Any players who wish to be part of the Affiliate Player Program cannot be a member of any other Florida Youth Soccer Association (FYSA) club or US Clubs Soccer club AND must be registered with the Delray Beach Soccer Club in order to attend training sessions. Potential players who are not yet registered with the Delray Beach Soccer Club will be registered to the by Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Program, in which case they will need to provide a birth certificate, notarized medical release and proof of insurance, and will be charged a $20 registration fee. Affiliated Players who are registered to DBSC’s Recreational program are expected to attend all scheduled Recreational league training sessions and games. Affiliate Player status will not be accepted as an excuse for missing Recreational league commitments. Failure to comply will result in the Affiliated Player being excluded from Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Program training sessions. Players in the Affiliate Program will be required to follow all Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Programs Rules and Policies.
Change from Affiliate to Permanent Status:In the event that an Affiliated Player is invited to join Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Program on a permanent basis, and the player accepts, the player will be required to pay the prorated share of the Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Program Membership Dues as stipulated in the Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Program Player Parent Handbook, so long as the prorated share of the Delray Beach Soccer Club Competitive Program Membership Fee plus the amount of Affiliate Player Fee that has been paid for the year does not exceed $1,200.00 annual club fee.
