Prep League (7-8) yr. old: Welcome

Official Site of DATCLL Prep League

The Division VP is Cory Thomas

Both boys and girls can play in prep/machine pitch.  There are 2 games a week (always on Saturday and one during the week on either Tues, Weds, or Thurs).  They also have 1-2 practices a week during the season, depending on the coach.  Before the season starts you’ll have 3 practices a week. Practice could start as early as the first week of April.

The season starts April 13th and goes though the middle of June.  The pitching machine pitches at 38 mph. All children must wear white pants with no belt, cleats, and a cup.  Our league recommends that all 7 year olds play in machine pitch, so that way they are ready for it when they are 8 because then they have no choice but to play prep.

Registration:  At the Chapel, February 9th & 16th 2013, 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

On-Line Registration is available at www.timecorners.com and ends Feb 28th 2013.

Age Requirements: You MUST be 7 or 8 years of age before April 30th 2013.

Players will be drafted to a team using the blind draw method.   Each team may start with a Manager and 1 Asst. Coaches and their respective children.  This means each team with a Manager & 1 Asst. Coaches could start with 2 players, with the remaining roster filled by the blind draw method.

Though at every level baseball is developmental, when entering the Prep Division the level of play now becomes a little more “Competitive”. Prep players could be selected to All-Stars.

Prep will compete with 11 Players on the field & everyone bats. Every player is required to play at least 12 outs (unless a game is called due to the 15 run rule).

Coaches will contact Parents/Players the week of March 25th.

Practices MAY begin during Spring Break if Coaches, Players, Fields, and Weather Permits.

Most teams will practice & play games 3 to 4 times a week based on scheduling.
