Urgent Notice
To: All Officers in D3 or D3 Leagues Pres's/ Officers:
From: Tom McCarville D3LLNJ Adm
I just got the word the Non-wood bat Regulation has come onto the Floor of the NJ Assembly. I've attached a note regarding the potential Law. I hope you get it. The prospective Law Its BACK & BIGGER than last year with more Assembly people behind it. You need to get your people: Officers, parents,Coaches, etc, to get tons of emails, etc, to the area Assembly people & Senate Reps to tell them it is "not a safety factor" & the costs of a change would be prohibitive. Get on this ASAP or we'll be "SOL" in a few months. Fight them now or deal with their EDICTS thereafter. Ask them ,"Why aren't they dealing with our HIGH Tax issues in NJ instead of messing with Youth Baseball." It's time to STAND UP to BIG BROTHER. Tom McCarville D3

Metal Bats vs. Wood Bats
Metal Bats vs. Wood Bats
Assemblyman Diegnan (as promised) introduced in the new session this week A-372 (Sposnored by: Diegnan/Egan/Russo) Please note that for obvious public relations purposes he is now proposing the bill as "Steven's Law", which prohibits use of non-wood bats in certain organized baseball games.
Co-sponsors are: Scalera/Giblin/Cryan/Fisher/Prieto/Burzichelli/Merkt/Voss.
The bill was referred to Assembly Law and Public Safety Committee. You can see a copy of the current bill HERE. The bill essentially takes effect seven (7) months after enactment and only applies to baseball. So far there is no Senate bill introduced as of close of business today. We can strategize after you have an opportunity to review.
A copy of the bill which was introduced last year is HERE
The Assembly Bill No. A372 regarding " Wooden bats only" in NJ is on the desk of Assembly.
Little League Executives want each League to send a note to their Assemblymen and Senators and stating why we need to be allowed to keep using Aluminum bats. To contact your state representative follow the instructions below after you Click Here Click on the town you live in

| Safety Plan (ASAP) Process |
|
Starting in the 2008 season it has been announced by the New Jersey District Administration's Association President, that in New Jersey any leagues expecting to play "Interleague" and/or host "Tournament games" at any level, MUST write a Safety Plan and it needs to be completed and sent to Little League before April 1st, 2008.
Items that normally would be a pre- season 2008 project can be entered into the plan as a "scheduled item." It does not need to be completed before the "Plan" is submitted to Little League.
Little League only needs verification later, that the plan was followed. The item(s) listed "to do" can be set on a schedule in the Plan and that will be fine.
Therefore there is no need to hold up the "ASAP" packet until you completed everything in your Plan.
Remember, this will be a mandated item for all Leagues and it needs to be started early to be ready for April 2008.
Please start your Leagues "ASAP" project in September or October and get a big jump on the 2008 Spring Season.
