CONCESSION WORKERS 2012-2013

LIST OF CONCESSION STAND WORKERS

FOLLOWING IS A LIST OF PEOPLE WHO CAN BE CONTACTED FOR HIRE TO WORK IN THE CONCESSION STAND.   THE RATE THEY ARE PAID IS $10/HOUR OR $30 PER SHIFT.  IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HIRING ONE OF THESE PEOPLE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT THEM AND ARRANGE FOR THEM TO WORK FOR YOU AS WELL AS TO PAY THEM FOR THEIR SHIFT.ANYONE CAN SIGN UP TO BE ON THIS LIST AS LONG AS YOU ARE AT LEAST 14 YEARS OF AGE.

AUTO FRY

All orders are made one at a time, at the time someone places the order. (exception: tournament weekends, boys & girls high school games......you can make a couple orders in advance and place in the warmers). Do not make french fries or onion rings in advance. They do not hold up in the warmers.

Takes only a few short minutes to cook, but needs to be turned on right away to get the oil to heat up to the correct degrees before any order can be placed........

All orders are pre-proportioned and in freezer.......

ON LINE SIGN UP

 CHANGES: You will have one week from the day the "invite" email is sent out to sign up. If you do not sign up, we will put your name on the list and you will be required to work at that time.  (we have tried and tried to give you the option of picking your own times. There is no reason that one or two people have to work extra just to cover the times others do not sign up for. )

 

Here’s how the sign up will work: This is an email based system. Each team will be assigned certain dates to work, just as before. And based on the email addresses you provided us at registration time, your email addresses will be entered into the system. Once dates have been set up for your team, you will be “invited” to sign up. You will receive an email from Brenda Kaiser inviting you to sign up for the concession stand.  You will then “click” on the web address provided in the email, “enter” your email address, “set up” your own password, “enter” and you’re in.

 

From here you will see all the dates, times and number of people needed per shift. Special instructions will be listed if needed. When you find the dates that work for you, simply “click” on “sign up”…….and you’re done. It really is that easy.  You will be able to see who else has signed up and for what time. You will be able to make notes letting others know you will be able to pick up the money box. If you are signing up for your spouse also, just “click” “sign up” again, and it will show you have taken 2 spots for that shift.

 

 This system will send you an email 2 days before your shift reminding you that you are working and what times. 

 

There is a SWAP feature also. If you sign up and then something comes up that prevents you from working that shift, you can go and “click” the “swap” icon on that date. This will bring up a list of the others on your team that have signed up for other times. From here you click on the person or persons you would like to “swap” times with and hit “request a swap. They in turn will receive an email indicating that you would like to swap times with them. If they are willing to do this, they would “click” the “I accept”, an email is sent to the person who initiated the swap telling them that the swap has been accepted and the names change on the form automatically.

 Note: remember that if no one “accepts” your swap, you will be responsible to work the original shift. 

 

There is also a “delete” icon with this system, however, we are not allowing you to use this feature. Once you enter your name to work, you must work or swap, so be very careful when signing up.

 

Each and every time someone signs up, swaps or makes any kind of a change, we receive an email indicating who has done what. If you delete your name, we will go back in and manually put you back on the form.

 

Note: you will only be able to see the dates and times you have been “invited” to.  If you have more than one child playing you will be “invited” to each of those teams.

 

Note: if game schedules change (and they do) a game is added or a game is canceled or postponed we will go in and make the necessary changes to the form. If the changes affect your team, you will be sent an email stating there has been a change and you will need to go back in see the changes and adjust your sign ups if needed.  If you will be required to work more than the initial 5 times, you will be notified via email.

CONCESSION STAND POLICY AND NOTIFICATION

The Blue Line Club has a new concession policy.  Most things have not changed and will be handled the same.

On line sign up will still be used and you will have 7 days from the first email notification to choose your time slots. After that time we will automatically assign you time slots, which you will be required to work, or find a replacement.

Missed shifts will be assessed a $100.00/shift amount, which may result in withheld game jerseys, other equipment rentals denied, or the possiblity of your child sitting for a period, until all fees have been paid.

Opting out of working is no longer an option.

MERCHANDISE

Selling merchandise out of the concession stand for tournaments or games is strictly prohibited!

This includes, clothing apparel, prize sign up giveaways, or any other item that a team may decide to sell or giveaway for home tournaments or games.

EXCEPTION: already pre-approved items that are regularly sold at all times. (mouth guards, laces, commemorative pucks and hats, pins)

A separate table or designated area must be set up for such a purpose.

WORKING

If you sign up to work a shift you MUST be there the entire shift, to have your shift qualify for your required times.

You cannot leave to run errands, pick up your kids, go home to let the dog out, or for any other reason....UNLESS you have someone to come in and replace you for the time you are gone.

Your replacement must be there before you leave, and not "on their way".

WORKING CAN BE FUN

HELPFUL HINTS TO RUNNING A CONCESSION STANDWITHOUT CONFUSION AND CONGESTION  

 

  1. Have fun
  2. Be on time so you have proper preparation time before opening windows

**Depending on number of workers**

  1. One person running the till
  2. One or two people taking orders (this person can also get pop orders)
  3. One or two people in back area cooking/preparing food
  4. One person manning the popcorn machine
  5. One person pouring coffee/cappuccino/hot chocolate/Russian tea/cider
   

We now have plenty of room in our new facility; there is no need to be running into each other as in the old rink. If everyone takes a station, and helps out when needed or time allows, things should run smoothly for all.

 

*Start people at opposite end of cash register, (gates will help & they are coming)

*take orders,

*call out orders to those preparing food,

* when customer reaches the register they should have their order and ready to pay

  

These are only suggestions................

VENDING MACHINES

The vending machines in the arena are not owned by the Blue Line Club, they are owned and operated by the city of Crookston.

You cannot give out refunds of money or merchandise to someone who gets the wrong item, or looses their money.  You will have to direct them to an arena or city worker to resolve this issue.

ACCESSING CONCESSION SIGN UP

If you have deleted the link from the original invite, and would like to check on your times......

You would have had to have been already invited and  established an account for the on line concession sign up, then you can go to

www.signupgenius.com

If you click on the green tab at the top "my account" you will be able to see which sessions you have been invited to and what days and time you have signed up for. 

 Remember you can only see the sessions you have been invited to.........

OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE

NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR BEVERAGE IS PERMITTED IN THE CROOKSTON SPORTS CENTER WHEN THE CONCESSION STAND IS OPEN.

The concession stand is open for all games (peanut/8U thru UMC college levels), for all tournaments and occassional special events.

CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED

CREDIT CARD MACHINE: We accept, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, (and all debit cards with the Visa/Mastercard logos)

There is a $5.00 minimum on all charges, and you CANNOT give out change. (you cannot run through $5.00 for a $2.00 pop and give them $3.00 change!!!).. all charges under $25.00 will not need a signature..........
