CRETE AREA YOUTH BASEBALL SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION MISSION STATEMENT
Crete Area Youth Baseball Softball Association (CAYBSA) is in existence to create a child, parent and coaching friendly environment for competitive youth softball and baseball. We are a non profit organization trying to maintain and create a high caliber competitive youth program. The goal of the organization is to teach children and parents the fundamentals to become better athletes and coaches. We want the children and parents to have fun and enjoy the games of competitive softball and baseball. We want your participation to be a positive experience.
2012 OPENING DAY Ceremony will be SATURDAY APRIL 28th.
ALL Baseball and Softball games WILL BE PLAYED AT HERITAGE PARK
There will be a special tribute to Coach Doug Falk prior to his son Evan's Pony game at 1:00pm.
Schedule for the baseball season should be completed by April 2 and web site will be updated. All Crete baseball teams will play at Heritage Park April 28th to take part in the Doug Falk tribute.
Girls softball schedule will be finalized by April 17th. We are hoping to have all Crete softball teams play @ Heritage Park April 28th @ 330pm for the opening of the CAYBSA league.
Boys draft was Feb 15th
Girls draft was Feb 16th.
Update concerning CAYBSA board position: VP of Softball
Vince Schrementi made it offical that he is stepping down as the VP of Softball at the March 21, 2012 CAYBSA board meeting. Vince has been grooming Mike "Stu" Stawicki the past few months to get him ready for the 2012 season. If you have any questions concerning girls softball please call:

Long time member of the CAYBSA Doug Falk, passed away Feb 9th, 2012. Doug has been involved in coaching his sons for many years in the CAYBSA. The CAYBSA would like to say "Thank You" to Doug and his family for being a great coach and mentor to the kids he has coached over the years. Doug will be missed but never forgotten.
Visitation & funeral services will be held on Feb 15th, 2012 at the Trinity Lutheran Church 1393 Elizabeth St in Crete. Visitation from 11am-4pm and funeral service at 4pm.

Crete Cyclones Travel (part time and full time) Baseball Info for 2012
The Crete Cyclone teams will compete in the Chicagoland Part Time Sunday Travel League (CSL) in spring 2012. The Sunday league runs the same time our in house WIL/KAN league runs. April - June. Play 10 games. 5 home and 5 away. Away games are usually within 25-30 miles of Crete,IL. It is a great experience for the young players to compete against others towns and play at a level higher than in house games. Not as expensive or demanding as full time travel. If interested in coaching a fall baseball or softball team please call Bryan Milburn 708-595-0919 or email allaspectsbryan@yahoo.com. You don't have to live in Crete to play in the fall league. You didn't have to play in the CAYBSA during the spring league either. Fall ball is about developing players and play in the fall what division you will play the next year. If you move up to Mustang, Bronco or Pony this is a great way to get ready.
Baseball will play in the Chicagoland Sunday part time travel league (CSL). Season starts end of Aug through 3rd weekend of Oct. Eight week regular season then 2 seeding playoff games. Top 4 teams advance to semi finals the following weekend. Mustang, Bronco and Pony levels.
Softball depends on how much interest there is. There are a few options on leagues pending ages interested in playing fall softball.
If interested in playing Fall Baseball or Softball please sign the Fall Ball sheet at registrations Jan 20, 21 or Feb 3 or 4, 2012 @ Town Hall in Crete, IL.

March 8th, 2012 @ 7:30pm will be the CAYBSA umpire clinic held at Illinois Lutheran High School. If you are interested in umpiring or already are a CAYBSA umpire you must attend this meeting.
Baseball and Softball Umpire Clinics for Level 1 and Level 2 IHSA umpires. Mandatory meeting Feb 5th 8am-2pm in Rolling Meadows or Feb 12 at Crete Monee HS 8am-2pm. Call Nate if any questions regarding these mandatory IHSA umpire clinics.
