2nd Annual Field of Dreams Day a huge success 

  On Saturday June 6^th the Cranford Police Athletic League held its second annual Field of Dreams Day for the children of Cranford with Special Needs.  Over 30 athletes participated in Saturday’s events, each leaving Memorial Field with a medal, some goodies, and a huge memorable smile.  The athletes enjoyed numerous events including; basketball, bean bag toss, bowling, football toss, parachute, scooter races, soccer, and t-ball.

  The entire event was funded through donations received from local businesses including; lunch donated by The Office Restaurant of Cranford, drinks donated by Shoprite of Garwood, tents and equipment by ABC Party Rental, Kleespies & Associates, HHH Machine Co., Diamond Cleaners, Perrotti’s Quality Meats, Roselle Savings Bank, Advanced Physical Therapy, Hull Vicci Construction, Simpson & Brown, Graber-Rogg, Calvary Tabernackle, Anacapri Foods, All State Legal, Reel Strong Fuel, and the Cranford Junior Women’s Club.

  Ray Duffy Photography was on hand to capture the event.  The photos can be viewed and purchased on Ray's website - www.rayduffyphotography.smugmug.com.  Password is pal.  These photos will only be available for purchase until June 20th. 10% of the sale proceeds will be donated to the Cranford PAL.

Coaching Application and Background Check

All coaches of the Cranford Police Athletic League shall have their fingerprints taken and submitted to the New Jersey State Police for the purpose of checking their criminal history. Information obtained from the criminal history check will be used in determining the eligibility of the individual to coach in the P.A.L. This information shall not be shared with civilian members of the Cranford P.A.L. Board of Directors. Any person making a false statement on this application shall be denied the privilege of coaching in the Cranford Police Athletic League. The cost of the background check will be paid by the Cranford Police Athletic League, Inc.

Rutgers SAFETY Courses Offered for New Coaches

All individuals that will be coaching PAL teams at all levels are required to have participated in the Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council's S.A.F.E.T.Y. training. The link to the website with the current class offerings and locations is contained. Please ensure that you have taken this approximate 3 hour course prior to the beginning of practices.
