Coaching Application and Background Check

All coaches of the Cranford Police Athletic League shall have their fingerprints taken and submitted to the New Jersey State Police for the purpose of checking their criminal history. Information obtained from the criminal history check will be used in determining the eligibility of the individual to coach in the P.A.L. This information shall not be shared with civilian members of the Cranford P.A.L. Board of Directors. Any person making a false statement on this application shall be denied the privilege of coaching in the Cranford Police Athletic League. The cost of the background check will be paid by the Cranford Police Athletic League, Inc.

Rutgers SAFETY Courses Offered for New Coaches

All individuals that will be coaching PAL teams at all levels are required to have participated in the Rutgers Youth Sports Research Council's S.A.F.E.T.Y. training. The link to the website with the current class offerings and locations is contained. Please ensure that you have taken this approximate 3 hour course prior to the beginning of practices.
