Union County Field Survey

Dear Lacrosse Fan,

As a resident of Union County, we ask that you please support our effort to get Union County to build some lacrosse fields in the Union County Park's system. Union County has requested residents to provide input on the future of the County Park System. There are currently over 85 fields designated for various sports, in Union County's more than 25 parks covering more than 6,600 acres, however, NONE (as of October 2009) are designated for lacrosse.

Please take a moment to let Union County representatives know you would like this to change. To evidence the fact that lacrosse fields are not currently in their plans, lacrosse was not even listed as an option in the County's questionnaire until we requested it be added in Question 4. They added it, you will find it as the last choice.

Please open the following PDF survey:

http://www.ucnj.org/UC%20Parks%20Questionnaire.pdf

You can fill it in, print, and mail it in as instructed, or Email it in by scrolling back up to the top of the survey when you are done and click "Submit by Email" in the top right.

Please use this opportunity to give honest feedback to the County regarding our Park System - there is room for improvement - they are asking for help to identify where and how. Some suggestions:

  • Question # 4: Be sure to rate "LACROSSE FIELDS" with a score of "5" (it's the last option).

  • Question # 6: If you believe it is a good idea to have lacrosse fields at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, be sure to add "Lacrosse Fields at Oak Ridge Park" in answer 6F.

  • Question # 11: If you believe it is reasonable to ask the County to designate some of the current 85 fields as lacrosse fields to be used during the spring or that the County should develop the open land near the old quarry north of Mt. View Road in Springfield for lax fields, please note it in question 11. Please add that Springfield has a shortage of fields and that their program badly needs a lacrosse field for their use.

Please share this with others in Union County.
Thank you for providing input and for your lacrosse support!
